Product details

25-year Limited Warranty. Read about the terms in the Limited Warranty brochure.

Laminate countertops are very durable and easy to maintain. With a little care, they stay like new for many years.

You can cut the countertop to the length you want and cover the edges with the 2 included edging strips.

The thinner countertop with straight edging strip works perfectly in a modern style kitchen.

Create a perfectly coordinated look by combining this countertop with a matching wall panel.

Completely bowedKatie J.This was our first time purchasing a counter top from Ikea. We measured and made precise cuts in our garage and then carried this massive piece down to our basement for our bar top. Much to our dismay the entire board is completely bowed. It is totally unusable and we already made cuts. This is unacceptable.1
Nice quality counter/desk top.LeslieI have the black Ekbacken counter top on two Alex Drawer units. The top is really nice and should hold up well. It has a nice feel and seems quite hard so it shouldn't scratch very easily.5

It looks great. Countertop forkathiIt looks great. Countertop for our built in dressers5
I highly recommend this countertopAmandaI highly recommend this countertop for a desktop. The price is fair for how good the quality of the product.4
white marble effectEdward S.Bought this to use as a counter top for a reception desk. Was deciding between this and the light cement, ultimately went with the white marble as the texture looks alot more like a cement/stone finish than the standard high gloss look which I loved. Important to note for those wanting that standard glossy look as it might appear in the pictures. As the name suggest it does have a marble effect. These are very good looking and have a nice aesthetic to them5
Thought It Was StoneThomasLooks great . . . hard to tell the difference from stone.5
Looks greatCATHYGood quality, easy to install.5
Great find!LuAnnThis works perfectly to be used as a countertop in my crafting area. And, it's lovely!5
Laminate countertopNANCYGot this on clearance, worked great for my laundry room4
Nice looking but thought it was slightly darkerLinda V.Out of all the choices on Ikea this was closest to what I was looking for. Still a little lighter than pics and not as dark as I'd hoped! I would love to see an expresso version of this but still having the wood grain look. Of course, once I put these in I won't want to replace them for many years!4
Desk?HEATHER B.I bought this to use as a (teacher) desktop. Read other reviews that it worked great. However, I am not going to have it again a wall. So the unfinished edge is a bummer! I didn’t consider that one side edge would be raw… until I saw it in person. Now I’m looking to buy a laminate strip to cover it. I loved buying it online, they loaded it in my car. So helpful.4
Elevates my desk!AdrianElevates my desk!5
Love the simple pattern!AnonymousI love the simple pattern, and the colors are so neutral that it gives the room personality without taking center stage.5
top notch for bath vanityWAYNEbought as a backup/quick solution to installers breaking our $2000 custom quartz top. ikea comes through!5
A fine countertopKaysieIt is what it is. Does the job! Nothing wrong with it, it's able to be cut to size, but finishing the cut edge with the panel provided isn't super easy and in turn didn't look very good.4
looks great and is durableAnonymouslooks great and is durable5
great valuedavidlooks nice, cleans easily ... also chips easily so be careful.4
Love itAmandaIt was not as good quality as the Salian, which I bought for the basement kitchen. I prefer the increased thickness of that countertop. However, this is great value and quality all the same. I have 4 areas in the kitchen including and island and it’s stood up to time and use.5
Looks nice, but bows like crazyAndrea T.I purchased this as a desk top to go on top of 2 Alexa Drawer units, to make a desk. I purchase 2 support legs to put in the middle of the desk, to support my computer monitor, and even with that, it still appears to be bowing. I have had it for about a year now, and it seems just as bad now, as it was on day one, when we first put it together. It does not properly rest on the desk units, instead, it lifts up, and slides around. Are there any suggestions on how to fix this? It's a real bummer. (I had weights on either side, but it looks awful, and it is not at all functional with giant weights on my desk.)1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What are foil and laminate?

Some wooden materials need protection with a durable and easy-care foil or laminate surface. The choice depends on the end use and desired finish. We often use paper foil for storage furniture, while plastic foil suits demanding areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Today, the plastic we use is mostly recycled and our goal is to use plastic from renewable sources. Laminate is made of resin-impregnated paper, which adds a durable and moisture-resistant surface for countertops.

Quality

Built and tested to last

We believe that our kitchen countertops should meet your highest demands when it comes to design and performance, without compromise. That’s why we test our countertops, and put them up against the everyday challenges they’ll face in your kitchen: liquids, oil, food, steam, heat, bumps and scratches. When they’ve passed our testing, we know they’ll last, and we guarantee it with our 25 year limited warranty.
