The scale on the chair's sliding bar is only an indicator for setting the height of the seat to how tall you are – sit and adjust as you like to what feels best.
The seat depth is easy to adjust to your child’s height since it can be adjusted from 12¼ to 16½ in.

Child, heck; got this for ME! :D However...NancySince it can hold up to 220 pounds, I figured this would be fine for my short adult self. I LOVE that it only has FOUR LEGS! And wheels! It's so hard to find ANY desk chairs, child or adult, with that! :D And nice sturdy construction, too! :)
However...the instructions were way more complicated than expected and didn't always work; the backrest does not stay put, though the seat does (which is more important, frankly). Lucky for me, I need the ergonomic aspect at my older lower back, so that actually works.
I get that it's originally for kids, but I would still have preferred having the seat swivel, and it's hard to back up. :( My husband and I got this at the As-Is window after ordering it online, and paid an As-Is price for it, which I think was worth about that much. I might recommend this to a friend, if they could get it for the same amount.
Whenever you folks make an adult wheeled desk chair (with a swiveling seat!) with FOUR LEGS, count me in! :)3
