      Smells really badJenniferI have to say, the rug itself is quite lovely and thick. However, the smell of raw wool is quite strong and quite bad. We had it in a bedroom for months, and could not figure out what the sewage like smell was. I could not imagine it was the rug, as I have many other wool rugs in my home. Finally, at a loss, we removed the rug, and realized it was the source of the terrible smell. The rug has been aired out for months now, and still smells. Such a shame, and loss of money.1
      Wanted to love it butChrisIt started unraveling almost immediately. The rug is beautiful but the loops kept coming undone more and more over the 2 months I had it. Maybe I just got a defective one but I wasn’t willing to take the risk of getting another one. Also note that it’s made of all natural wool. Mine had a sort of wet livestock smell to it that came and went. Recommend deodorizing and vacuuming the rug regularly.2
      Nice looking rug but it STINKSOraThis rug looks great in my office but it smells so bad. It's definitely gotten better but it's taken months of airing out my office and air fresheners. If they can fix the smell or if you know of a way to fix it faster then I'd say go for it. Apart from the smell; it seems like good quality. It's a good weight. But I wouldn't recommend.3
      NOT flatwoven!AndreaThis rug is gorgeous but the variety of thickness causes the rug to not lie flat. It bunches and pooches up. Might be ok in a bedroom but in a high traffic area it's a tripping hazard, looks awkward where its bunched, and the bench at my dining table actually tips over backwards easily because it rests on a thicker part of the rug. Great idea that does not work out as intended and does not look as great as the photos!! So sad bc I nearly broke the bank on this splurge and I live too far to return. Super bummed.3

      Form design process

      Made using the pit loom weaving technique

      The pit loom, as the name suggests, is positioned over a pit, and the wooden frame is angled for horizontal weaving. The artisan sits underneath the frame, and controls it with foot pedals and their hands, crafting rugs with intricate patterns and designs. This setup enables working from both above and below the frame, achieving a very tight weave. Producing a rug with this technique takes about 2-3 days, resulting in a work of art that can add character to any home.

      What is wool?

      Wool is a practical natural material that usually comes from sheep. The raw wool is washed and then spun into yarn. Wool rugs have many advantages. They're soft, warm and comfortable to walk on, and they're also very hardwearing. They're stain-resistant too, because wool has it own natural oil. This means that dirt stays on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the rug. All wool rugs shed - some more, some less - vacuum them regularly to prevent the loose fibers from scattering.
