Difficult to assembleBethI completely agree with the other November review. The center design is poor due to the lack of clear instruction for a critical step, and the lack of precision in the alignments and holes, which all pop out when you add the parallel side boards on the floor. Everything is just a bit off. We had to redo it several times. Also there was glue splattered on a board, dirt, holes covered by laminate, and a laminate seam peeling. I’ve bought ikea for years and I see a significant drop in quality.2
Impossible assembly & brittle partsNorvellIn steps five and six, this product requires that you connect three pieces of wood via cam locks- one in the middle, and two on either side of it. This would be all well and good if they keys were longer, the holes were bored properly-but they're not, and that's before even mentioning how inadequately they stress the importance of this step. In having to reattempt this step so many times (several times with two others assisting me), I had multiple of the cam locks physically snap, and the wood fractured to the point of being irreparable. Since the only way to get replacement parts is to go to a physical store, and l lack a car at the moment, this will seriously set back the timeline of me properly settling into my new home, even if I were to hire someone to assemble it for me. I love IKEA products in general, but this level of difficulty in assembly is frankly unacceptable.1

Poor qualityShaunI've purchased plenty of great products from IKEA; this is not one of them. I experienced the same issues as some of the other reviews - that the supports on the side do not supports the slats, which then fall into the drawers underneath. I also had issues with one of the drawers falling apart. I'm not going to totally write off IKEA, but DO NOT BUY THIS BED!1
Utterly frustrating to try to constructPaulI've been purchasing furniture from IKEA for 36 years, and this is by miles the most frustrating item I've ever encountered. Good luck trying to get through Step 6: they don't bore the holes accurately enough for the extremely fine maneuver that they ask you to undertake with cams and dowels. Ended up having to hire someone from TaskRabbit— I'll have to see whether he'll even be able to do it. My recommendation is just to stay away.1
Squeaky noise NestorI am also having the squeaky noise non stop. We currently have a new born n every time we get up he wakes up. We have another one in our other room. It is also a lot older n that one never gave us a problems. We assumed this one wouldn’t either 1
Dangerous - READ reviews before buying MorganPlease please please read the reviews before buying this bed. I had it delivered in August and have had problems ever since. The bed itself is beautiful - the structure is a nightmare. On either side of the bed there is not enough support to really hold up the wooden slats. One small movement and the hinge comes undone and the slats drop. Once this happens, your mattress falls down - this has happened in the middle of the night when I’ve been asleep and has even happened with my kitten jumping on the bed. It has been such a pain to have to worry if I happen to move too fast and end up falling in my sleep. The other issue is the metal brackets in the bottom. Every time you pull out a drawer or move the mattress - they come undone and fall into the drawers (honestly not sure what they’re for since they are held up by the tiniest loose screw that doesn’t even really screw in.) after 9 months, I’m fully returning it. It’s a safety issue and not worth the money, time, or stress.2

The instructions for putting it together are precise, easy to follow and the parts fit together so well. When finished it is solid and accepts its mattress perfectly. I would certainly buy this again if I had another bedroom.5

It's good with a few flawsKieraI've been eyeing this bedframe for years and when I finally bought it was so excited. However after having it for 6 months I wish I had gotten something different. While the drawers are huge and have great storage. You can only easily access the bottom two of unless you don't have nightstands. It would honestly be easier to get a lifted bed frame then just buy plastic bins to put underneath. Also the slats don't have anything to lock into. So they fall out of place every few days from just normal sitting or sleeping on the bed. Besides these two things its a great bedframe and looks nice. 3

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
