Great Bed!LeticiaMy middle son got this bed when he was in Highschool, my oldest son got it when he moved into his first place and now my daughter just bought it for her first place. It’s that good! They like the storage headboard and the drawers are oversized and hold a lot! This is a great bed that has held up well.5
Fell apart in under a yearTyler C.Purchased this bed frame hoping it would help consolidate space. But now the only thing it has done is cause stress. In under a year one of the supporting boards has began to fall apart due to the poor particle material. To make things worse ikea won’t even send a replacement part. Stay away from ikea if you like to spend your money wisely. I’ll never buy anything here again and I’ll be sure to tell anyone I know to stay away.1
Awfully devised, impossible to put together without a team, takes twice as much room as the bed is just to piece togetherChristopher B.If we would have known how horrible this bed was to put together, we definitely would not have purchased it. The amount of illogical steps and ridiculous pieces trying to amass a bed frame is astounding. The instructions also do not tell you that you'll need twice as much room as the bed will take to put it together because the steps are all in the worst order. Missing hardware, some directions unclear, and a chore to put together, do not attempt this unless you want to punish your loved ones or friends.1
Hard to assembleShelleyTook 3 ppl a total of 7 hours straight, only to get to the end and have 4 incorrect brackets so we couldn’t even finish the last two drawers underneath . Too many steps and pics don’t adequately explain1
Great purchase!JohnPlease with the quality and the assembly of it. I’ve heard horror stories of how bad assembling ikea furniture was, but I managed to assembly it easily in a fair amount of time.5
Awesome bed with storageRogerBought with the Lonset slats and is a very comfortable bed5
Slats fell indiane n.Like others have stated with just typical movement the slats have fallen in and scared the heck out of me. The slats just will not stay out. Too bad.2
very upsetjenson r.I have been trying to return this bed frame for over a month as it was not what I was expecting. I called two separate times and was told in BOTH phone calls that I would receive a phone call regarding a pickup for the return. I have yet to get a phone call, this was over 2 weeks ago now. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. I am out of $500 and would appreciate some communication.2
Long assembly - great resultFelicia B.I’m a 24 year old who is not very handy at all, but I managed to put this entire bed together + headboard in a day, entirely by myself. It took me from around 10am to 6pm, but I was also all on my own so I imagine it would go faster if I’d had someone help me. The quality, sturdiness and storage space is amazing!! Highly recommend this bed!5
BUILDING THIS BED WAS THE MOST GRUELLING THING EVERNaomi J.The bed is great bought it for the drawers underneath but be warned it literally took me 6 hours to build. I had to push myself through the mental and physical exhaustion of this bed. My back still hurts and I have blisters on my hands - but yeah good bed. Also the third box is grey which I originally thought was a mistake but it’s just the inside of the drawers.4
Awesome bedPatrickGreat bed with plenty of storage and not too difficult to assemble!5
Good valueNinaThe bed is sturdy and the storage space is very useful4
As expectedFannyIt is overall very good. The assembling is a little complicated. It definitely requires two people.5
Great value for money!SaeherGreat value for money!5
Hight quality, cosy, look great!IuliiaHight quality, cosy, look great! Good price.5
Nice furnitureL.A.Standard IKEA fare - decent quality, not too expensive, always takes longer than you expect to assemble (I understand the universality of pictograms, but some are ambiguous), looks nice. The only real con is that the two components (headboard and frame) do not come with a method to connect them - I'm thinking even three or four pre-drilled holes and some hardware (nuts and bolts). I'm left to my own devices to combine the 2 separate furniture pieces into a single unit - wish me luck!4
Not worth the time and money to put togetherSUMMER P.Super disappointed on how difficult it was to put together. I read someone else's review and I am so glad I hired Task Rabbit. Rod was super friendly and communicated the process to me. I read the other review say it took over 5 hours to put together. Was that person so Right! Rod was here for 6 hours! Did a beautiful job and glued everything together for sturdiness. The biggest issue, the price per hour spend putting this together. I literally paid double for the Brimnes bed frame and headboard. Hence my 3 star. Side note, the headboard mounts to the wall and the bed frame sits in front of it. They are not connected pieces. Lots of effort for what I paid. Also a missing piece along with my missing mattress during the delivery. Wasted hours on the phone being transferred to 5 people in one day. I do not recommend.1
Practical bed with big storages underneathDeokPractical bed with big storages underneath. Those are really huge storage can hold weight up to 25lbs each. Pretty well made with strong storage head board (you buy separately). Took me over 4 hours till everything is done. One star off because storage drawers slightly touches each other when I open and close.4
Space savingKAILIENI wanted to re do my bedroom so I can utilize my space. This bed is perfect! The 4 drawers are huge and they fit more clothes than my dresser did. It has a clean simple look with lots of functionality.5
Terrible experienceBrysonWe purchased this item and when we went to put it together we found that it was missing all of the hardware required to assemble. We have been in contact with customer service 4 times, we thought that we were going to be sent the missing items the first two and have only received excuses since then. If you purchase this open it in the store and verify that everything is there.1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.
