Nice designKaren M.We were doing multiple, some assembly required, furnishings. IKEA was the easiest and my favorite in looks when it was over.5

Great value!Kyle H.Not the easiest install for hanging them, but if you’re handy, it’s a breeze.5
Wobbly and had to assembleAngela C.I’ve assembled probably 50 pieces of IKEA furniture in my lifetime and never had as hard a time like I did with this thing. First off, it’s SUPER WOBBLY side to side. Back panel does nothing to help stabilize. The glass door was a nightmare to install. Screws didn’t fit in metal screw holes. And the door is crooked because the wobbly cabinet leans to the left. I will have to go but some L brackets to straighten it out.2
Besta CabinetsTracy L.Not the same quality as the older ones however customer service was wonderful executing replacements and then ultimately a return.1
Used as storage in my pantryJUDITH H.Easy to assemble. It took my husband a total of 2 hours to assemble two of these which we used as shelving in our kitchen pantry. Easy to adjust the shelves which was the reason we chose this. One was not wide enough so we bought two and he screwed them together as well as to the wall.5
GoodPAT D.Looks good5
Not the same qualityJennifer R.We have several pieces of Besta that are 8+ years old. I only gave this new product 2 stars because they still offer so many options. These cabinets are not built well. They do not have dowel rods holding it together, it is literally a single screw and plastic cam loc in each corner creating a box. The back does not attach to the frame in any way NOR is there the typical center board giving it more sturdiness. Just know you can ONLY attach these to the wall in order to make it somewhat square, even the short one that should NOT have to be attached to a wall. I COULD NOT square the cabinet doors in any way without attaching it to the wall which took a VERY long time to get perfect. I have two of these units already and they are free standing and perfectly sturdy. They do however have MANY dowel rods along the frame connection, metal cams and the back is nailed to the frame. Super disappointed I have to purchase parts to attach to the back of this unit to make it sturdy and square.2
Great productPAT D.Fit perfect over closet works good will get another5
SucksElizabeth M.This is disappointing that it’s flimsy for the price. Hey how about making better and secure shelf.1
CoolNadine M.Nice display box5
Plastic cam connectors?Alan A.I have seven of these cabinets that I bought almost ten years ago. I just purchased three more. The cam connectors are now made of plastic. They are not durable and one already has weakened. HEY! IKEA, go back to the metal cam connectors! And, while you are at it, bring back the full height doors.3
hard to assemble without instructionsdeyanira c.The item itself is not too bad, the downside is that the back is cardboard.2
Always Great productROLANDO C.Ikea always have great quality on this type of item5
Building the Cabinet FramesRichard B.Quite simple to assemble, but you need larger than cabinet floor area to assemble. Be patient when assembling the back panels and leveling and connecting two sections. Time consuming.5

Great storage solutionJenniferEasy to assemble and they look great!5
Good Cabinet with lots of optionsJamesI love that you can customize this in many different ways. I ordered two. The first one was very sturdy - the second one was wobbly. Customer service was prompt and replaced the second one. Relied on Youtube videos for assembly - because its customizable there are lots of parts you don't need but it's hard to tell which ones to set aside and which ones to use.5
Besta cabinetBOBBEEThese cabinets quality is not great. They are very wobbly even after tightening it up. We bought similar Besta cabinets years earlier and they are very solid. Quality has decreased.3

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
