I'm not sure I understand the few poor reviews. I found this to be a GREAT little greenhouse for the price and size. Those that may have had stability trouble may have not heeded recommendations to fill the provided pockets with sand for weight.
This has held up well in midwest US region, plastic is reinforced. Was simple and straight forward to build (and seems easy to tear down and store like a tent if needed in winter). Shelves are sturdy. Great ventilation options with the half moon zip on both sides (top of door, screened in at back).
Great addition to the garden. I anticipate getting a second and face the doors together.
I also recommend:
- fully fill weight pockets with landscaping sand (extra $6 USD)
- add Rebar-Stakes-12-Inch-Galvanized, U Hook. I added these at each corner, the inside at door and back (extra $15 USD)
- added solar fan with a timer (extra $15)
- added humidity monitor (extra $5 for 2)

Does Ikea fix simple design flaws?EllenExcited to see this little greenhouse on display last night at the store (out of stock) but decided to buy it online until I read a YEAR of reviews describing the same obvious design flaws I noticed, in addition to the structural and assembly issues ... WHOA! The same failures are reported over and over ... Was it human error or AI? Either way, simple fixes to the well-articulated design flaws would create a very successful product ... What does it take to fix these flaws and re-release a safe, functional, successful product? ... IF Ikea's intention is to sell quality products ... IF Ikea is truly sorry for creating a multitude of disappointments, even pain and injury ... Simple solution: Heed the reviews ... get human hands testing products for function ... And respond with simple corrections to basic design flaws before wasting customer's time and money with products only destined to a landfill ... This one's not rocket science. I look forward to Ikea doing the right thing ...
