Good sturdy desk...ErinI really like this. I bought it to use as a dining room table after I moved here, and it's held up really well. I'm back to buy another one to use as a sewing table, it's the perfect dimensions for my craft room. The desktop is really beautiful, easy to care for, and has successfully withstood markings from my cats' claws for several years now. I'm an old lady, and it was very easy for me to assemble.
UpdatePeytonI mentioned in a prior review that this table top was not sealed, and felt rough. I should note that the top does have a light varnish. It is not as smooth as the bamboo top on the drop leaf table, which resists stains. I prefer the smoother feel of the table and had thought the desk top would have a similar feel. If you aren't comparing the two side by side, you probably would be just fine with the lightly varnished finish.
Good looking and functional but rough feeling topPeytonI have the Ikea drop leaf table with the same bamboo top. Unlike the drop leaf table top, the Anfallare desk top has not been sealed in the same way, and so feels quite rough in comparison. If you carefully compare the product descriptions of the two items, you might catch that the table is sealed and the desk top is not (the drop leaf table's description includes comments to the effect that top is 'resistant to stains'). I will probably return this item if I don't have the energy to seal it myself. Having said all of this, the table top is great looking.
