This cover is made from Knisa fabric in polyester, which is dope-dyed. It’s a durable material which has a soft feel.
The design is versatile and fits in many different environments. The clean-lined look makes it easy to add a personal touch with cushions and throws.
The seat is made with foam and zigzag springs that provide firm and supportive comfort – both when you sit and lie down.

Great Design, Terrible Fabric RoyI bought this sofa/bed for my very small bedroom in my tiny home. The design is fantastic. There is plenty of room when in sofa mode for a Japanese Tea Table and there is still about 6" when extended to Full size bed mode. BUT the fabric choice is terrible. It may be tough, but if you brush against it, it feels like sandpaper. A prewashed denim would probably be as durable and have a better texture.

Terrible quality controlJustinLike another 1-star review here, I received the product flawed. The distance between the two hinges didn't match the pre-drilled screw holes in the back panel, making it impossible to complete the assembly. I only managed to make it work by loosening the hinges from the base and maximum rotation within the hole clearance. I'm not sure if this workaround would shorten the lifespan. Very poor quality control!
Great value, great looking, great decision!ClaireI was back on forth on whether to go ahead and buy this sleeper sofa having read some less good reviews. Failing to find a viable alternative with any other stores, I went for it, and am so pleased I did. The assembly was super easy - I did on my own in in about 20 minutes. and it's perfect. My only concern is how the legs will perfom - they're hollow plastic. I will report back in time with how it's wearing up, but as someone who laments the loss of the OG Beddinge sofabed, I think this is going to be the next best option. We shall see.

When its pulled out I bought a full sized topper to go over th crack and all of my guests have been happy with it. The only negative is that tall people will have their feet hang off as its a true "full" sized bed when pulled out not a queen.

Flaw in AlvdalenThomasI bought an Alvdalen. The back is supposed to bolt to two hinges on the base. The distance between the hinges was different than the distance between the bolt holes on the back, making assembly impossible as delivered. I had to go to the hardware store and buy 1/4" lag screws to assemble the furniture. IKEA failed in its QA and QC on this product. IKEA needs to check the manufacturing and potentially recall all flawed Alvdalens.

Great futon at a great priceClaudiaThis futon-type sofa is perfect for an occasional bed. It is a comfortable sofa and easily unfolds into a bed. Will probably get a mattress topper for the bed as it is quite firm.
nice but hinges don't alignJessicabought it today. went together in no time except the hinges bolt holes do not align. had to take one bolt out of the bottom half of the hinges to make the two on the back line up. I don't want to load it back in my car and go back so super disappointed on the quality control but will probably just hope it holds up with one bolt instead of two.
