These lamps breakHelenI’ve owned 4 of these lamps for 2 bedrooms. The clamp breaks over time due to stress in the plastic. A steel clamp with rubber grips would perform better. Also, the weight of the neck causes the lamp to sag over time. This is not a good example of this type of lamp design.
Did not lastSarahDescription said light should last 25,000 hours or 20 years at 3 hours per day. It lasted less than 3 years and was only used at bedtime for reading 2-3 days a week. Big waste of money, no replacement bulb or part options, and the same lamp is now $14 more than it was when I bought it. Disappointed.

Ikea does not sell proprietary bulbsNathanGreat little lamp, but it's come with a unique bulb that Ikea does not sell. Customer service just ordered me one as spare part, but considering all the hassle (one rep incorrectly told me to replace it with a gu10) I would not recommend buying this or any similar lamp.
Clip doesn't lastTristanThe light itself is great and the bending aspect works well but the clip lasted me about a year of being clipped on stuff before it broke apart.

This lamp is landfillStephanieI've had this lamp for a couple of years and rarely used it. Now that I have a permanent spot for it, the lamp has started flickering like mad. I plugged it into different outlets and also tightened the bulb connection, but to no avail. So now I see that you can't just replace the bulb meaning it was not only a huge waste of money, but also just adding it to the masses of trash in the world. I thought IKEA was supposed to be an eco-friendly company, so what gives?

Flickering lightBettyI need a light like this, to clip to my headboard so I can read in bed. The flexible goose neck was the main attraction of this clip on light. Most nights, which were actually few within 3 weeks, the flexing may have caused a break in the wires. It will not maintain fixed, continuous lighting. It only flickers.
Simple reading lampGeneHeavy duty clip-on reading lamp for limited applications. Wish the light intensity was adjustable and the "neck" was longer and more flexible. Serves it purpose.
