If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.

I mean… MaxIt looks great, but there were a ton of flaws with the product. Not enough wood connectors (instructions say one thing, build requirements are double for one part), but you can buy more of those, yeah? I’m to the next part, the holes aren’t even lined up properly, so now I’m deciding do I drill new ones or just return it altogether. Unfortunately can’t give this a good review.
Crack and peeled surfaceMaria Hereza LynI ordered this one because it was recommended by a family member. I did not open the box right away after it was delivered. I just noticed it later on that there was a cracked and peeled surface in one of the wood panel.

Extremely dissapointedTownsendWas quite excited to purchase this as my last ikea bed frame was amazing. This one was the opposite. The wood split at the foot of the bed after barely a week of use and has been falling apart ever since. Supports would malfunction and the mattress would fall out of the frame at night. Extremely frustrated and would not suggest purchasing this.
New apartment, new bed, uh-ohJenniferThis was part of a very large order, and everything else was fine. This, big NOPE. It fell apart the FIRST time when a child sat on it. Not jumped on it, SAT on it! We fixed it up as best we could with extra wood we had around. That was a few weeks ago. Last night, in the middle of the freaking night, BOOM - it fell apart again! We now have to build wooden supports to hold up the middle. NOT HAPPY, IKEA!
Don't Buy - Stupidest F*n Bed FrameJamesThis bed frame has broken while I've been sleeping several times only for me to crash into the floor. Who's the genius with the idea to use loose curved slats as the main frame for this bed? Better yet, they are all connected so if one falls it gets stuck in a position that you cant move one slat without moving the other two connected to it. If you buy this bed frame, you will spend half your nights waking up to lift your mattress and adjust the slats or have to deal with sleeping on the ground or at an angle. Great job IKEA!

Easy and NiceErinI got this bed frame for my queen bed and it was pretty easy to put together! My sister and I were able to complete it in about 2-3 hours. It would gone a lot faster had we gotten Ikeas drill. Allen wrenches just take a while. In all, I would def recommend this!
Misunderstood bedKaiA majority of these low star reviews seem to be from user error. Slats are typically used for spring mattresses. If you have a foam mattress, I’d recommend opting for a solid base box spring.
As stated in the description, this is untreated Wood so I would definitely recommend staining it. Otherwise, you risk cracking or warping the wood overtime. Yes this does mean more work but it makes it much stronger and have more personality. Staining it also allows you to customize the shade to fit your style.
I just used a single coat of penetrating oil base stain from Minwax. This allows the wood to breathe and you don’t risk cracking the stain, as you would if you did multiple coats.
The slats also need to be tensioned, which is the final step. if they are not properly aligned/tensioned they will slip.

slats are bowed, by designChristyAidan on 1.30.25 left a bad review, bc the slats were bowed, he said. Please know the slats are bowed, by design! My daughter and I bought the same bed ... she is a Mechanical Engineering major and explained to me why the slats are bowed. We assembled this bed together and find it to be very sturdy. Follow all instructions, including using the small anchors for the slats, facing in the correct position to keep them taut. Some of these bad reviews are clearly user-error!
Great bed for teenKatieThis bed is kind of low to the floor, but it is sturdy and easy to put together. Our teen son is fine with it. I let him draw and put stickers on the wood.
Great quality and durable HeidiWe purchased this bed for my toddler. I have been sleeping in the bed with her for 2 years. It does not make any noise and has held up to my 215 lbs, plus her 30lbs. Fits name brand full mattress from C***co. Very please with this purchase. We also cut the legs down to make it low to the ground for toddler safety.

No Slat IncludedMaryamI’m really disappointed with my experience. I purchased this bed frame with high hopes. As we checked out, the cashier told us to go back and get the center support beam, but we got home and realized the slats were also not included. However, on the website it is clearly detailed that the bed frame, center support beam, and slats are included the purchase. I’m frustrated that all the parts were not in the box, and the cashier had us go back to pay for something that should have been included in the box. So now, I’m here with a built bed, but no slats and extra money out of my pocket for the beam that should’ve been included. Not to mention, I do not live close to an IKEA to correct the inaccuracy.
