Difficult to assemble, doors hard to openHengSome of the installation steps are inappropriate. Eg the step in page 19 of the main assembly - the screw is so near the bar that there is no room to place any screw driver handle and be able to turn it at the same time.
Page 9 of drawer assembly is another impossible situation. There is no indication on how tight or loose the cross bar is to be.
After assembling all the longer drawers, not every one of them could fit into the most bottom slot. Some hit an obstruction somewhere. No time to investigate.
Drawers are hard to open with just the slopped top edge. Handles/knobs would be easier.

To have a good experience, pls read and understand the given instructions sheets, and have a standard set of tools available (small hammer, flat and cross screwdrivers, a pen knife).

MALM chest of 6 drawersKevinBought as a direct replacement for a similar item bought years ago. Unfortunately the design has changed slightly, and while the overall dimensions are identical, the capacity has reduced quite a bit due to the inner depth of the drawers being shallower. Still happy with everything else about it, but a shame that an older design was actually better.
Malm 6 drawersNurI have had many drawers previously which means i have encountered some pleasant and unpleasant ones. Malm is one of value in terms of money, usability and style. Its simple clean cut design makes it in style for very long and its functionality earns its value for the price paid. I used black brown for 10 years, and since i loved it so much but wanted a breath of new color, i got the same thing but different color. That speaks volume of how i adored this drawer!

Misalightment of part. Order: S045250026582AdrianOne of the top drawers has a misalightment resulting in it being able to retrieve partially, not fully and that the drawer could not be pulled out of the slot at all.
We took great care in self assembling the unit, and we have done this before with your other product.
It is our believe that the part has a measurement misalightment during the production stage.
We are hesitant to exchange the product since it would mean that we need to reassemble the unit all over again.

But the support on the side and back is quite poor. I have purchased quite a few products from IKEA over the years but this has been the worst so far.
