Perfect for frying an egg and most importantly, it works on induction cookers. Feels solid. So far, it works well.5

Worth the moneyAnonymous reviewerJust bought it on 10 Jan, and as of now (12jan) it is looking good. I have bought cheaper pans from IKEA in the past but they didn’t last for long. Hoping this was one lasts for at least a year or two. I use another pan which I bought from IKEA in 2016 and started using it from 2020 onwards and it still works fine. Probably their manufacturing unit has changed.5

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
