HEJ-FIT Challenge Frequently Asked Questions
This is Hej-Fit - IKEA’s first ever Fitness challenge and it is taking place in IKEA Tampines. Teams of two (2) can sign up to complete five (5) event challenges, with a time cap of ten (10) minutes per challenge.
The event will be held on 19 and 20 of September 2026 from 9am to 8.30pm at IKEA Tampines. Selected teams will receive their start time three (3) days before the event. Flag off timings will be assigned to the teams and this cannot be changed.
Hej-Fit consists of five (5) different events. Each event will have two (2) workouts. The individual workouts are:
- Event 1: Ski Ergs and KUGGIS Box Row
- Event 2: Row Ergs and LOHALS Rug Reverse Lunges (Synchro)
- Event 3: Run and HUGAD Thrusters
- Event 4: Burpees and BLÅHAJ Throw over BROR Shelf
- Event 5: FRAKTA Carry and VOLVO Load
The individual events are clearly separated from each other, and the entrance and exits will be clearly marked.

Please note that there will be no separate competition category for adaptive athletes. All participants will have to compete within the same open category and be subject to the same rules, scoring criteria and prize eligibility.Each team will have ten (10) minutes to complete the targets or prescribed number of repetitions and their timing will be recorded. Each team’s final score will be determined by adding their Event Challenges timing together. Teams that fail to complete the given targets or prescribed number of repetitions within the ten (10) minutes will not be awarded with points, and be assigned a DNF (Did Not Finish) status. All decisions of the Judges are final.
Teams and judges are to sign off on the physical score sheet after each event as an acknowledgement of scores. Once signed, the score is deemed final and no discrepancies or appeals will be entertained.
The duration of the whole challenge will take about ninety (90) minutes, including the duration at each station and the movement between each station.
Your team will be assigned a DNF (Did Not Finish) and will not be eligible for any prize(s). However, all teams are still encouraged to complete the event.
To qualify for registration, you will need to form a team of two (2), consisting of one (1) male and one (1) female. At least one (1) member of the team must be a valid IKEA Family member. Both participants must both participants must be between 18 years and 60 years of age. For safety reasons, pregnant individuals are not eligible to participate in this event.
The event is not open to IKEA co-workers, Wearnes Automotive employees and contractors.
The events are designed for moderately active pairs who engage in at least 180 minutes of physical activity per week.
Participants should have a basic level of fitness and be comfortable performing a range of functional movements such as running, lifting, carrying and bodyweight exercises.
The challenge is intended to be fun, competitive and achievable, while still providing a meaningful physical test for moderately active participants.
Registration is mandatory and must be completed physically at any IKEA Singapore stores by filling out the form and dropping it into the registration box.
- Each IKEA Family member is entitled to one (1) registration form.
- IKEA Family members who spend a minimum of $50 in-store during the Registration Period from 25 August 2026 to 9 September 2026 will receive one (1) additional registration form per qualifying purchase. Members may make multiple qualifying purchases during the Registration Period, up to a maximum of eleven (11) registration forms or a cumulative in-store spend of $500.
- The redemption of registration form is valid for purchases of home furnishing products in IKEA Singapore physical stores only. It excludes purchases made from online store, made on IKEA Gift Cards, Swedish Restaurant Food items, Swedish Food Market items, Bistro items and services including but not limited to IKEA kitchen installation, sewing, planning, delivery, assembly services as well as Picking and Delivery services procured and paid at iCounter.
Each IKEA Family member will automatically be entitled to one (1) registration form. IKEA Family members who spend a minimum of $50 in-store during the Registration Period will receive one (1) additional registration form per qualifying purchase. Members may make multiple qualifying purchases during the Registration Period, submit up to a maximum of eleven (11) registration forms.
For example:
- Amanda is an IKEA Family member - entitled to one (1) registration form. Amanda spent $100 in a single purchase transaction on 28 August - entitled to two (2) registration forms.
- Amanda spent $80 in a single purchase transaction on 2 September - entitled to one (1) registration form.
- Amanda spent $50 in a single purchase transaction on 3 September - entitled to one (1) registration form.
Total registration form submitted as of 3 September = 5 forms.
- Amanda spent another $500 in a single purchase transaction on 8 September, entitled to only six (6) registration forms as each member is capped at eleven (11) registration forms.
Registration opens from 25 August 2026 to 9 September 2026, both dates inclusive, during store opening hours. Registration forms that are incomplete, late or do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be void.
Registration does not guarantee a spot in the event.
Registration will close on 9 September 2026 and all forms will be collated with a physical draw done to determine the 100 teams eligible to participate in IKEA Hej-Fit Challenge.
On-site registration is not allowed on the day of the event. Selected participants may switch partners on the day of the event. The new partners must be above 18 years of age. All participants will be required to sign an indemnity form.
Registration counters are located at:
- IKEA Tampines: After Checkout area, Level 3
- IKEA Alexandra: After Checkout area, Level 1
- IKEA Jurong: Exchanges and Returns area, Level 4
Selected teams will be contacted via email by 11 September 2026. Selected participants must acknowledge the email by 15 September 2026 to secure their place in the event.
If you did not receive any email, this means that you have not been selected.
Each team has their own starting time slots. You will be able to check your start time via the link provided in the confirmation email. It is recommended that you arrive at least sixty (60) minutes before your start time in order to allow enough time to register and warm up.
There will be a briefing ten (10) minutes before the start of your wave. It will cover the main flow and important information such as location of the water point and the medic station should you require some assistance.
There will be no formal workout demonstrations on the day. If teams need to ask questions about the workout, please look for the Judge prior to the workout time to clarify.

A designated warm-up zone will be available for participants to perform their own warm-up routines. No exercise equipment will be provided. Please ensure you warm up properly and exercise safely before the event begins
The winning team will win a fully electric Volvo EX30 Plus. The said prize excludes Certificate of Entitlement (COE), insurance, road tax and other miscellaneous taxes. The winner must register the said prize by 20 December 2026. The IKEA Member (Participant 1) will be contacted directly by Volvo for arrangements related to prize collection.
Scores will be updated after each wave and teams will be given the link to the scoreboard at the event. The organiser will contact the potential winning team prior to the last wave on 20 September, 8.30pm. Teams are also encouraged to track their scores on the live scoreboard.
In the event of a tie, the tied teams will be required to participate in a designated tie-breaker challenge - Event 5.
If a team fails to report to the event grounds on 20 September, by 9pm, the team will be deemed to have withdrawn from the tie-breaker and will forfeit their position in the tie-breaker ranking.
Prize Presentation will take place at 9.30pm on 20 September at IKEA Tampines, Level 2 event area.
The prize will be rolled over to the next rendition of the Hej-Fit Challenge.
The prize is non-transferable, nor redeemable for cash or any other form of monetary compensation.
Yes. Please ensure that you are physically fit and able to participate before registering and participating in the event. For safety reasons, pregnant individuals are not eligible to participate in this event.
IKEA may cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances without prior notice and will not be liable for any direct or indirect losses resulting from the cancellation.
The IKEA Hej-Fit Challenge is designed to be a fun and enjoyable fitness event, however safety remains our top priority. Participants will be asked to stop and to be assessed by the on-site medic before confirming if they are still able to continue.
All participants are also required to sign an Indemnity Form during registration and professional medical personnel will be on standby throughout the event.
Please ensure that you are physically fit and able to participate before registering for the event.
There are water points available for the participants and we encourage you to use your own bottle to refill. You may also bring your own non alcoholic beverage into the event.
Yes. By participating or entering the premises, you consent to IKEA and its partners capturing photos and videos for marketing purposes.
Yes. Spectators are allowed on the outer perimeter of the events.
We recommend wearing comfortable sports clothing. Covered shoes must be worn. Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to participants who are not properly dressed.
All participants are responsible for their own personal belongings. There are lockers on Level 3 of IKEA Tampines that are free to use but Ikano Pte Ltd or the event organiser will not be responsible for any personal belongings placed in the lockers.
Event staff and security personnel will be on-site to direct participants and spectators. In the event of an emergency, immediately locate the nearest event crew member and follow instructions according to IKEA’s security procedures.
