How to decorate with mirrors

The right mirror can help make your home feel bright and airy, as well as add an interesting decorative touch. Here are a few tips on how to make the most of magical mirrors.

1. Create the illusion of more space

A well-placed mirror can transform a smaller space by creating a feeling of depth. Use one to give a small bathroom a spacious vibe, or make your hallway or walk-in-closet look bigger. For maximum results, hang your mirror to reflect the light.

    2. Brighten up a dark spot

A mirror can play the role of a window by enhancing the natural light or reflecting the light of a lamp. A classic mirror like the one we use here can be hung vertically to elongate the room, or horizontally to give the impression of a wider space.

      3. Create a feel-good space

Transform any room into your private gym or practice studio by leaning a large mirror against the wall. This one is almost two metres tall so you can see every move you make (and check out your outfit from top to toe). Prevent the mirror from sliding with the mounting fittings included.

        4. Enhance your vanity spot with mirrors

When you need to take a close look in the mirror, like when you’re doing your make-up, light is important. Try placing lights either side of your vanity mirror to minimise shadows, and if possible place the mirror near to a natural light source. A dimmer function is also a really good extra feature.

          5. Let mirrors encourage movement and play

Does your little one love to dress up, or are they more into rough and tumble? Whatever their preference, a child-safe mirror at their height can help to increase their awareness of themselves and their abilities, and encourage imaginative play. Here’s looking at you, kid.
