“Fläder” is the Swedish name of elderflowers, creamy yellow flowers that are in full bloom around Midsummer time in most areas around Sweden.

In Sweden, elder is used for both syrup and spread. Here, elderflowers are mixed with orange and orange peel to create a spread with a fresh summer taste that is sweet yet refreshing.

Enjoy the spread on toast or crispbread, for summery breakfasts or as a snack between meals.

    I enjoy having a small serve of Marmalade most days. This is my first time trying Orange & Elderflower and I am enjoying it. It is on the sweeter side for an Orange jam but very nice.

    The elder bush grows up to 7 metres tall with creamy-white, strongly-scented flowers and dark berries with sanguine juice. In Sweden, elder is commonly used for syrup, but also makes a great jam.
