How does IKEA’s assembly service work?
With Taskrabbit's assembly service, trusted Taskers can install their IKEA furniture in their home. You can book your assembly in-store or online during checkout, or directly through the Taskrabbit website at any time.
This is how assembly services work:
- Book and pay for Taskrabbit's assembly service in-store or online during the checkout process.
When booking online:
a) Add your products to the shopping cart in the website da IKEA.
b) Enter your postcode at checkout to check the availability of the service.
c) Read and accept the Terms and Conditions by Taskrabbit.
d) Select the dates: one for the delivery of the products and one for the assembly.
e) Choose the payment method and complete your purchase. Note: You pay for the products, delivery service and assembly service through IKEA.
You can also request assembly services directly from Taskrabbit at any time.
In this case, the reservation is made directly through the Taskrabbit website and not through IKEA. - Check your email and look for a message from Taskrabbit with next steps. You’ll receive a welcome email and booking confirmation from Taskrabbit, which includes instructions on how to create and activate your Taskrabbit account. This is a mandatory step to enable communication with your assigned Tasker. If you do not register and create a Taskrabbit account before the scheduled assembly time, your assembly appointment will be cancelled.
- Chat with your Tasker in the Taskrabbit app or website to confirm your assembly service date. Once you have booked a timeslot for the service, you will be assigned a Tasker with whom you can communicate about the service. You can do this either by downloading the Taskrabbit app or using the in-app chat function through the Taskrabbit website. The Tasker will also send you a reminder 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
- Changes or reschedules if necessary. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment and you already have a Tasker assigned, contact them directly via the in-app chat or on the Taskrabbit website.
If you do not yet have a Tasker assigned, contact IKEA Customer Support for help with rescheduling. You can reach us by writing “I want to speak to a co‑worker” in the chat.
When rescheduling, the new appointment may be carried out by a different Tasker, and Taskers are not obliged to accept the new date or time. - Leave the products unassembled in the original packaging. Place the packages in the room where you want them to be assembled and make sure there's enough and safe space for your Tasker to get the job done.
