How does bathroom planning work?
IKEA bathroom planning is a free service, available both in-store and online. Bathroom planning takes approximately 45 minutes. You can also plan your bathroom using one of our free online planning tools.
During your appointment, you'll meet with an IKEA bathroom expert, either at your local IKEA store or online in the comfort of your own home. The specialist will help plan the bathroom furniture, ensuring storage and functionality for simpler routines and easier days.
Here's how it works:
- Inspire herself. Spend some time browsing bathroom ideas or start your own drawing using the our bathroom online planners.
If you use one of our online planning tools to create your bathroom design, make sure to save the design code. You'll need it to edit your plan later or to use it during a planning session with an expert. You can find your planning code at the bottom of the tool page by selecting "Summary".
If you'd prefer to receive a link or email with your design and code, select "Save As" and follow the onscreen steps. - Book an appointment. You can choose to book your session online or at your nearest IKEA store.
- Measure your space. The IKEA planning specialist will need details about the space or room. Record measurements of height, width and depth as well as positions/dimensions of electrical outlets, doors, windows, etc.
- What do you need? Make a list of all your essential needs and wishes to create your dream space.
- Take pictures. A drawing or a photo of the space can be very useful.
- Need to reschedule/cancel your appointment? Follow the link in the confirmation email or at "Manage Order" in case you need to reschedule or cancel your planning session. Please do so at least 1 hour before your scheduled appointment.
- Discuss your dreams and wishes with an IKEA bathroom specialist during your appointment. You will receive a 3D plan and a shopping list with everything you need. The planning appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- Take time to assess the plan and next steps. Do you need to make changes or are you happy with the final design? When you’re ready, visit IKEA in-store or online to finalise your order.
