Life happens at the table
Chef approved
They say a chef never reveals their secrets, but chef Carlos Afonso is going to break that rule to show that IKEA has kitchenware worthy of haute cuisine. In this episode, learn the recipe for a lingonberry almond tart.
Lingonberry almond tart
Ingredients
Salmon
- 250g ground almonds
- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
- 400g sugar
- 5 egg yolks + 2 whole eggs
- 1.2dl water
- 100g butter
- VAGGSÅNG lingonberry spread
Preparation
- Bring a saucepan with 300g of sugar and the water to a boil. Let it boil for 5 minutes, until you get a light syrup.
- In a bowl, beat the remaining sugar, egg yolks, whole eggs, melted butter, and ground almonds. Gradually add the hot syrup in a stream, stirring constantly.
- Line a tart pan with the puff pastry and pour the cream mixture over it. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 to 30 minutes, until the surface is golden.
- Let it cool slightly and spread a thin layer of cranberry jam on top, to give it shine and a touch of acidity that balances the sweetness of the almond. Cover the tart with IKEA lingonberry spread and serve.
