Good to know

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 40 cm and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 80 cm.

Can be used on the corner unit only if the shelf next to it has no doors.

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. In case it would break, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

Worst product and its a scamRajuDo not ever purchase this, its literally made up of cardboard and glass panel supported by cardboard borders. I received it broken in two pieces, and cheap cardboard such that glass was intact but boards broke, WOW. I regret purchasing this and have lost hope from IKEA. Never going back to purchase anything.1

Beautiful Bookcases by IKEA,Bad Delivery and InstallationAnonymous reviewerThey looked very nice after installation. The ikea product is excellent. I got lot of compliments from relatives. I have got it wall mounted and organised my books. Major problem is Ikeas delivery. Horrible experience. Booked afternoon delivery. They called saying we are doing another delivery in morning in your colony. Come now. We were in our rented house and my driver was away. My son in virtual class, I was cooking my husband in office. Finally he had to leave office and collect. Shame on delivery company GATI. I did not get apology also when I complained. We paid 6000 for this experience. Installation guys did not come at 12 to 4 on following Sat as per booking. They troubled whole time. Came at 5.30 pm . Then kept telling we want to go. Schedule another day. I had to escalate with customer service to get job done. The stuff in IKEA store is enchanting. I want to buy a lot. I did I got a sofa, TV center, study table, swivel chair, cushions and clock. All very nice and expensive. But each time the delivery and installation people were late and laid back. I recently bought beds and wardrobes from Godrej Interio. Got it on Sunday, Delivered on Monday, Installed on Tuesday. No problem. Plus they took cartons away. I would love it if IKEA could also give option to take away packaging. I saw that they offer this abroad but not in India.5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
