Do I need a receipt for returns and how are the refunds made?

The original receipt or proof of purchase is required for returns and refunds will be made back to the original method of purchase.

Your IKEA receipt will clearly state the purchase method (including last 4 digits of the card used to purchase). IKEA can only provide returns to the original method if the article is in original packaging condition. If the article is not in the original packaging, IKEA can provide refund in the refund card.

If you made your purchase in store and no longer have the receipt, and it was not logged under your IKEA Family account, IKEA can look up your store receipt with a few details:

  • Date of purchase
  • Store of purchase
  • Exact amount of transaction
  • Mode of payment
  • Last 4 digits of the card used (for card transactions)
