Are the photo frames in IKEA made with glass?

None of the photo frames in our range are made with glass for safety reasons and durability.

We made the decision to switch from glass for a couple of reasons:

  • Less raw material is used to produce our frames
  • Less energy is used to produce our frames
  • Avoids breakages that can occur during transit or if dropped
  • Less likely to shatter and become a safety hazard
  • They're lighter to hang and look just like glass

As well as all of the above being relevent, the most important reason we switched from glass was for safety reasons and durability.
