Reviews

great bread knifeAnonymous reviewerAdded the bread knife to my collection of Vorda kitchen knives and once again these knives have not disappointed. Good balance, good grip, very keen price and very keen edge to knife. Fairly long blade. Easily cut a slice of bread less than 3mm(type of bread dependant). If like my other Vorda Knives assume it will stay sharp for ages without need for sharpening.5
Very sharpAnonymous reviewerIt's so sharp both I and a friend accidentally cut ourselves trying to cut open bread rolls. It lives in its own special drawer for safety and we have learnt our lesson.5
Excellent bread knifeAnonymous reviewerGood weight & ergonomic handle, with a no slip grip. Great for sourdough slicing. A better bread knife than my previous which was 3 x times the price. 5
Good knife!Anonymous reviewerVery sharp, nice grippy handle, good quality too.5
Brilliant knifeAnonymous reviewerThis is the 3rd one of these knives we’ve had. The first 2 are still sharp after 2 years but just starting to lose their edge. Well made and well worth the price. 5
This knife is perfect andAnonymous reviewerThis knife is perfect and is a must have in the kitchen5
VORDA - super sharp!Anonymous reviewerSo sharp that my partner ended up in A&E a few hours after we had bought it minus the top of his little finger. All good now and we are using the knife, successfully, with much more respect!5
Bread cutterAnonymous reviewerReally good to use, Because of the size when you cut it stays with you so you don't wobble. Love making bread....now love cutting bread :)5
Perfect...Anonymous reviewerJust what I was looking for.5
The best breadknifeAnonymous reviewerThis is without doubt the best breadknife we have ever owned. The extra depth to the blade on this knife as compared to other breadknives we have owned in the past makes it a doddle to cut perfect slices every time. Not the cheapest but definitely the best & worth every penny!5
Good bread knifeAnonymous reviewerThis knife is well serrated and works well5
Excellent bread knifeAnonymous reviewerCuts bread really easily, no mess. Very sharp though so be very careful when washing.5
Kitchen knives to make life easier!Anonymous reviewerThis particular range of Ikea knives are outstanding, I think I’ve got one of each in the range now, and they are worth every penny. They make food preparation so much easier, the handle is beautifully shaped and the grip is great, these never slip in your hands. A word of caution though, they are razor sharp, great if you love to cook but be careful the kids can’t reach them.5
good size blade with easy grip handleAnonymous reviewera good quality bread knife,we have two of these now and find them very easy to cut straight in fresh bread.5
Fantastic productAnonymous reviewerI bought this as I already had the paring knife in the same set and all are very sharp! This one cuts through bread perfectly!5
Excellent bread knifeAnonymous reviewerRazor sharp, so watch fingers! Sturdy with good grip to the handle.Slices through crusty bread with ease & preparing fresh pineapple is a very speedy breeze5

Material

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"With VÖRDA I wanted to make a series of knives with a good combination of function and appearance. One of the places that's obvious is in the handle that has a material and a shape that make it comfortable and easy to grip. It was also important to me to make the knives in high quality re-sharpenable steel - so they can be used every day for a long time."
