Product details

The rail can be mounted to the wall or ceiling using appropriate fittings.

The ceiling fittings are included, wall fittings are sold seperately.

The rail can be cut to the desired length with a hacksaw.

You can add the rail to a single layer combination to create a double layer combination.

You can use the included connectors to connect the rail to ceiling or wall fittings, or to another rail to extend it.

Good to know

1 single track rail (length 140 cm), 2 ceiling fittings, 2 connectors and 2 end caps.

2 ceiling or wall fittings are needed for one 140 cm track rail. To build a longer track rail, add another wall fitting for every 140 cm for stability; sold separately.

Wall fittings and screws are not included.

Max. load: 5 kg.

When mounting ceiling brackets/fittings ensure a distance from the wall to allow opening/closing your curtain without obstacles like a protruding window sill, radiator or window handle getting in the way.

May be completed with 1 or more VIDGA glider and hook/24 pack to create more pleats.

Better than expectedAnonymous reviewerI'd give these (the whole system) 4.5. Short version - went together well, looks decent, only real negative the joining bits don't really work that well. We bought these to set up a double track. 4.8M on one wall and 2.2M on another wall (meeting in the corner). Ceiling mounted for floor to ceiling nets and curtains. I put the ceiling mounts together (2 per length on track) and then had a play to work out the best way to go about the job and how it all fits together. Lots of measuring and double checking and giving the wife options I put them up checking how well they worked as I went. Because the (any) ceiling isn't bang flat some of the joins are maybe 1mm out so the gliders sometimes stick a little going in one direction. The plastic parts that bridge the joints don't really help negate this. I've packed the 2 bad joints with small plastic window shims and it's sorted. 8 hours of ironning, hemming and fitting RIKTIG hooks to 17 curtains/nets and we're sorted and HAPPY.5

A good price for a well designed/ made productAnonymous reviewerA good price for a well-designed/ made product, with exceptions!! The joints need to be made more positive. There is too much flex at this point allowing the rails to move out of alignment, Even on the flattest/truest of surfaces. Great when there are no curtains on the track, but with curtains it starts to flex and jam. we have purchased several pairs of lightweight blackout curtains from Ikea, so it’s not as if they are heavyweights. to help cure the problem I have aligned the track as accurately as I can then bonded a thin piece (2mm) of aluminium Alloy flat bar to the outer face of the rear side of the rail, this has been a success. downside of this is if it has to be removed, I can't see me having to do this for a long time, so, good so far. I was thinking of making a clip, made out of spring steel to wrap around the track without interfering with the workings, but instead, I chose the easier method. Connectors and bracket fixingsAnonymous reviewerBe warned: IKEA supplies only two each of the connectors 146957 & 146956 with the curtain track. If you want to use more than two wall fixing brackets, to use corner tracks, and or to connect two or more lengths of track, be aware that you will probably need to order extra connectors 146957 and 146956 to complete your project. This is simple enough to do on the web site: simply calculate how many you will need and fill in the on-line order form; the required parts will be delivered free of charge. However it would have been great if these parts had been available in-store, I would have been happy to pay for them as now my project is held up awaiting delivery.3
Ceiling fixing does not work with M5 screwAnonymous reviewerFor ceiling fixing, due to the width of the topside is only 8mm, it won't work with a M5 or bigger screw - the head of the screw is usually 1cm and is too big. So don't use M5 or bigger ceiling fixing.3
