The areas that come into contact with the sides of the iron soleplate are metal. This will lead to wear on the soleplate. These parts of the holder should be sleeved in plastic or fabric.1

Looked on line and saw this one. Well made, but you do need screws to fix! Iron can be put away hot and will definitely not fall out. Great product and I’ve told lots of friends about it :)5
