Product details

When seasoned properly, the carbon steel pan develops a dark non-stick surface, making it great for cooking tasty food without sticking. And it only gets better the more the pan is used.

Works well on all types of hobs, including induction hob.

Can also be used in the oven since it is made entirely of metal.

Made from carbon steel, which spreads heat evenly, keeps the pan warm for a long time, and gives food an even browning.

The dark-grey sloping handle provides good balance when lifting and moving the frying pan.

The design of the handles reduces heat transfer.

You can use all types of utensils when cooking in the frying pans, including metal utensils.

15 year guarantee. Read about the terms in the guarantee brochure.

Reviews

Not recommendedAnonymous reviewernot only its sticky while you will see brown stuff seems the coat is so easy to fall off1
So bad productAnonymous reviewerOnly 2 weeks using It and It IS oxydatedb. Super poor quality1
Great pan that will last a lifetimeAnonymous reviewerPeople are buying this pan expecting it to act like Teflon. That's not how it works. It's a fantastic pan. Season it properly, wait for the pan to be properly hot before putting food in, and wait for a crust to form before touching it. Don't cook acidic foods or sauces in it and you'll be golden.5
Instant rustAnonymous reviewerRusted after first use. Would not recommend.1
Great frypan!Anonymous reviewerGreat frypan, a bit of the heavy side but once you've seasoned it, it's amazing!5
Awful panAnonymous reviewerI followed the seasoning instructions to the letter and the pan still came out blotchy. Food got stuck when using it and was hard to wash off, had to scrub it so hard the seasoned layer came off. Extremely disappointing - wouldn't recommend buying.1
Disappointed CampAnonymous reviewerYes, I'm in the disappointed camp. Bought this because already had two small carbon steel pans from IKEA (13cm & 20cm), which came already black and were really easy to season. Those pans have been absolutely brilliant and I wanted a bigger one but clearly this is not already black, and does not season no matter how hard ones tries, and does go rusty on a regular basis. I can't see what the product name was on the back of the good pans, but clearly they have been discontinued which is such a shame.1
Rusty after first washAnonymous reviewerUsed the pan for the first time with no issues, washed the pan and it’s gone rusty so can’t use again. Such a waste as it wasn’t a cheap pan at all. 1
It is fake productAnonymous reviewerI recently got this and when washed and kept it turns all rusty .1
Feels like this pan will lastAnonymous reviewerAfter using for a couple of weeks now we are really happy with this pan which has developed a lovely non stick finish, cleans really easily and feels solid without being too heavy.5
DisappointedAnonymous reviewerBought this frying pan loved the weight and what it thought was good quality. Washed the pan, seasoned the pan... cooking with it was great nothing stuck to it by the third time in using it in a week, I placed already cooked onions and garlic to sit whilst cooking something else in another pot. When ready to transfer there were dark patches like a stain on the pan and the smell of metal. I rewashed the pan the stain slightly disappeared so I went back to researching the pan. Again cooked well but now the pan looks like it has been left out in the rain for days. Im not impressed as I have two other pots that work well. If it wasn't for the decolouration this pan would have been perfect. Maybe this was a bad patch.1
Fabulous pan!Anonymous reviewerI have this and the 32cm pan. They work beautifully if looked after properly. They have a shiny black patina now and I can cook a fried egg or pancakes without any sticking. I cook in the pan, I scrape it, then give a quick scrub with a brush under cold water, then dry out on top of the stove. Works beautifully. 5
brilliant panAnonymous reviewerabsolutely fantastic pan - my main go to frying pan with great non stick and not too heavy. Really wish Ikea still made these as would get the 24cm pan also5
Half the price of the big brandsAnonymous reviewerVery pleased with it, far better than the previous generation one. Very thick so holds heat well and slick, smooth finish which takes the initial seasoning well. It does require maintenance however, as with any bare carbon steel or cast iron to prevent rust, but I'm sure it will last years and years of well looked after. Shame it's out of stock everywhere now as I am in the market for a smaller carbon steel pan and would happily buy again! 5
Don't believe the bad reviews! Anonymous reviewerThose who say they followed the seasoning instructions but still ended up with food sticking were just not using the pan correctly. I think it's quite brave of IKEA to sell a carbon steel pan, as not all home cooks can get on with them and so there's a lot of undeserved criticism. I was so surprised by the quality. This is a heavy and solid pan that feels like it belongs in a professional kitchen. Please search on YouTube on how to season and cook with carbon steel before you use it. There is a big learning curve and there are some important rules to follow to prevent sticking. Before first use I spent an hour lovingly seasoning the pan until it was basically black. Professional carbon steel grills in restaurants also start life out silver and turn black after seasoning and use. It's only then when their non-stick properties are realised. Also, don't forget the pan has to heat up to the point where a drop of water will run like a bead on it before adding oil when using it to cook. 5
Not for the faint hearted!Anonymous reviewerCarbon steel is for serious cooks who know what they are letting themselves in for. If you want a pan that cook brilliantly when you know how to use it, this is it. It isn't good for everything but it's great when you need heat. Don't use too much oil when seasoning. Good luck!5
Disappointed Anonymous reviewerActually went to buy the non-stick version (which I previously owned and it’s brilliant) but it was sold out - bought this instead. Seasoned as per instructions and cleaned when still warm - tried to convince myself over a month that it was an ok pan, but sadly it’s not. Lots of things stick very badly. Very disappointed.1
Very bad quality Anonymous reviewerI have bought that pan and we back home I decided to make some chorizo and scrabble eggs for quick dinner. Everything stuck on the bottom of the pan and after I washed it there was some stains and later on the same places the pan got rusty. I have chucked it in the bin. Such a disappointment. 1
