Reviews

Just right for a generous mug of coffeeAnonymous reviewerThis replaced our previous cafetière, where the handle broke after years of use. My only criticism is that IKEA has replaced the metal base disc with plastic, which may not last. But otherwise excellent.4
Great pourerAnonymous reviewerOnly cafeteria that pours well, filter good and quality base and handle5
FabAnonymous reviewerGreat colour works great5
Coffee potAnonymous reviewerNice pot easy to clean5
Great value for money Anonymous reviewerThis is very well made, glass not thin, very sturdy and well designed and over all great value for money for the size. Easily taken apart for cleaning 5
Nice cafetière Anonymous reviewerNice product but slightly smaller than my last one but enough to make two mugs of coffee!4
Cafeteria Anonymous reviewerIt broke before I got it home.1
Very bad quality of glassAnonymous reviewerI have used it for less than 2 weeks once a day . I did not put it in dishwasher and wash it really carefully fully with soft sponge but today i saw it has a hole at the bottom!! Just beneath the plastic bottom protector… I am really disappointed did not expect that from a good brand like ikea1
better than othersAnonymous reviewerthis is so much better than the ones I have bought in other stores and supermarkets. you screw on the bottom bits so it makes it sturdy. 5
Makes filtered coffeeAnonymous reviewerSmall compact does one cup of coffee. Goes in the dishwasher to get cleaned. Made of glass, plastic and metal. Used it a few times, does what it's meant to do. 3
OkAnonymous reviewerIts ok. It works but the top feels very flimsy 3
UPPHETTA THE GLASS WAS DISAPPOINTING. Anonymous reviewerI AM SO SORRY TO SAY THE GLASS BROKE VERY EASLY THE FIRST TIME I WASHED IT ?2
TerribleAnonymous reviewerSo fragile and glass is so thin. Broke so easily. The handle is also a bit weird & the base gets coffee/soap inside it, making it difficult to clean.1
CoffeeAnonymous reviewerI had one smaller things just the right size5
Great productAnonymous reviewerRepeat purchase, nothing bad to say, could be prettier I guess but for the money it’s great. We do take the base off and throw it away but I can understand why it’s there.4
Just the right sizeAnonymous reviewerGreat for morning coffee for one.5
Ridiculous design that works great for a few pots full...then falls apart.Anonymous reviewerGreat cafetiere, at least to begin with. Bad design, the base that holds the mesh and spring loaded press on is plastic. I've had cheaper cafetiere presses from Tesco last longer as the base of the handle is threaded metal, which obviously doesn't soften in the heat like the plastic base on the IKEA press. Roughly 10 uses in, used infrequently and not every day...this things fails apart, as the plastic threads in the base are no longer strong enough to keep the handle and mesh together. Looks good, cheap, but not worth it.2
Coffee pot Anonymous reviewerGreat for a one cup coffee5
I like this product - a lot!Anonymous reviewerI drink a large mugful of (good) coffee every morning and have been buying these for some 6 years now the only time I replace one being when I break it. Great value for money , pours well, has a wide base so will not slide around easily. My only criticism as such is that 1. the filter does after a while become unscrewed from the plunger rod to which it is attached that said not that difficult to fix with a decent pair of pliers); similarly 2. the shiny metal and strap handle attachment around the glass jug can become loose though yet again this is easily fixed by tightening up the screw inside the handle. Great product which would heartily recommend5
Hard to findAnonymous reviewerWith all the remodelling in W6, it was difficult to find where the small cafetières were hiding, having been in plain sight before. Delighted to find it was still only £8, extremely good value.4

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavour to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.
