Not suitable for outdoors! Anonymous reviewerRecently bought these lights in store, delighted to find outside lights with an inline transformer so they can plug into my outdoor socket ok (most outdoor lights have transformers at the plug which are too bulky for my socket cover).
However, despite being sold as outdoor lights, when I unpacked them at home and read the small print on the instruction leaflet in the box, it said that the lights should not be exposed to rain!!! Ummm, get a grip Ikea, you cannot sell lights for outdoor use in the UK which cannot get wet! I then read reviews here online and see that this is because the bulbs are not waterproof and fill with rainwater and stop working. I’m so disappointed. This is the first time in all my years of buying so much from Ikea that I actually feel misled and let down. Unfortunately I can’t get back to store any time soon to return them, so guess I’ll just have to use them & bin them once they stop working. I cannot take them down & bring inside every time it rains!

Broke after one WinterAnonymous reviewerI am very disappointed - I bought these lights last fall and loved them. Now after the winter I put in new batteries and realized it is wet inside the battery box. Turns out the lights don't work anymore! Very disappointing for this price, they are not suitable for outdoor use as advertised!

Lovely lights but full of waterAnonymous reviewerHad these two summers and took them in in the winter. They look lovely in the garden especially this year when we’ve had them in a more exposed place.
But, have noticed all of the bulbs are at least half full of water and as mains powered feel unsafe to use any longer. Not sure if any way of emptying the water out, if not think they will have to go which is a shame as we had loved them.
