Feels like sleeping under sandpaperAnonymous reviewerI was seduced by the lovely pattern and colour, but could not sleep under it, the texture is so rough, my bedtime felt like punishment, as if I was sleeping under sandpaper and not a product of, apparently, high quality. Sadly, IKEA refuses to accept the return because I washed it (as you should), to only have found out that it’s of inadequate quality and unusable.

Sandpaper is the correct wordAnonymous reviewerWhen I bought it at your Oxford Circus branch, I liked the classic design and the fact that it was 100% cotton, but as I was in a rush, I didn't check the small print. Only now I realised that it has 118 threads per square inch, which explains why it feels so incredibly rough, pretty much like sandpaper as described by other customers. At 118/sq inch, the individual cotton yarns are thick, spaced too far apart, and highly abrasive. This creates a loose, low-grade muslin or utility weave that is completely unsuited for comfortable bedding; that thread count may be acceptable for kitchen rags (to be clear, no pun intended) not for bedding.
In the UK bedding market, any standard cotton sheet or duvet cover should start at 180 to 200 threads per square inch just (only just) to be considered acceptable for everyday use. As for the price, well...don't get me started. For £30 you could get far much higher quality.

Great Duvet CoverAnonymous reviewerBought this duvet in green stripe (as per another review it could be seen as grey in certain lights, for me not a problem) I have a single & double which I washed before use. They were very heavy & creased when wet so I ironed them whilst damp. They are beautiful covers and softish to touch (just like the old fashioned cotton sheets in the 60s/70s I'm 72) These will last years and are excellent quality for the money. I would deffo buy again.
