Easy to assemble wardrobe with so much storage spaceAnonymous reviewerThe previous reviews meant I almost disregarded this wardrobe but it is perfect for our small space and it holds so much stuff for how compact it is. Me (at 37 weeks pregnant) and my husband built this during our toddlers nap time, it took us two hours to assemble it all and was relatively straight forward. The most important thing to note is the bottom drawer is built differently to the two above it.
I do agree with another reviewer that there is a lot of packaging though and annoyingly the Kubb organisers do not fit in the two shallow drawers.
Poorly designed Anonymous reviewerWhere to start...
The 2 side panels almost seem like there wider in the middle, there's nothing pulling it so the backboard keeps popping out and the draws keep popping out. Useless! It needs something to pull it in, to make it more secure in the middle. The Doors also seem to big for the wardrobe and over hang either the top or the bottom so you can't open the drawer.
We got this because it looked good in the shop. No idea how the display models are built, as I have tried over and over again and can't not get it right. Very poor instructions and very poor design.
Terrible instructions Anonymous reviewerInstructions not clear at all, if you do one step incorrectly you don't realise until the very end and then have to undo everything and redo it. Took a long time to figure which step we did wrong and had to rebuild all over again.
Poor DesignAnonymous reviewerReally poor design, instructions un-clear, Awful.
Awful instructions and poor fitment.Anonymous reviewerDrawers Instructions are useless, it suggests via diagram (sadly no written instruction) you use certain lug holes, but they need to be on different ones for the drawers to fit in the correct position.
Way too much packaging, and with each package there are separate instructions which is confusing. There should be an overarching instruction for the whole wardrobe.
The backboard doesn’t fit properly, the 2 side panels feel bowed and the drawers often slip off the runners. There needs to be a brace to make the shell more sturdy.
The Hjapa shelve screws are loose and they pull out when you fit the shelves, if they had fitted tightly this could’ve been used as a brace to make it more sturdy.
I wouldn’t recommend this wardrobe!
Instructions wrong!!Anonymous reviewerThe instructions tell you to build the seller drawer on the deeper level! But if you do this the doors then don’t fit correctly!
Took us a LONG time to figure this out and rectify it.
Very very disappointing.
We tried taking the wardrobe apart before figuring this out!
Take care when assembling the bottom deep drawer!Anonymous reviewerOverall I'm happy with the wardrobe but make sure you assemble the lower, deeper drawer so that the drawer bottom is in the shallower position, do not insert the two plastic gromits.
If you don't do this all the internal units move up a level and the doors won't fit.
Great design, quick and easy to build.Anonymous reviewerI have recently built two Pax wardrobes and then this Smastad/Platsa for my kids room. Comparing the two, although a fan of Pax, the design of this is great far easier to build. The frame and draws all slot together, the back panel slides in to pre-cut grooves rather than requiring 50+ nails being hammered in. I'd advise fitting the clothes rail before fitting the doors and that your choice of handles will determine how many holes you'll need to drill. Pax doors used to come pre-drilled but, seemingly, giving customers a choice of handles meant they could no longer standardise the pre-drilled holes.
