The lid is fine, this is a gem of a productAnonymous reviewerEvery now and again you find a product that is such well thought out and value for money that it makes your day and this is one of them for me. The lid fits well. It is possible to put it on slightly off, but if you are looking what you are doing, it's a nice tight fit with room to keep a food recycling bag in place. It has those wedge retaining shapes that mean it's hard to knock off, but not so hard it's a problem to change the bag. The lid folds the right way so that you scrape off the worktop into the bin and the clip allows it to fit over thicker doors but is sturdy on thinner ones. My only gripe is it's not dishwasher proof.
I'm probably going to get a few more of these and use them without the lid for storage of frequently used items like remotes, hairbrushes etc, they fit over my old Malm drawers and the (non Ikea) bedframe.

Great IF you don’t get a bent oneAnonymous reviewerA lot of these in the store were slightly (some very) bent/warped, perhaps b/c they had been piled on top of each other. The lids on those don’t close securely, leaving them to stay ajar — allowing flies in. Make sure you pick a lid/bin combo that fits perfectly. Probably best to go into a physical store rather than risk the lottery of delivery. Having said that, if you get a well-fitting one, they’re great.
