Do not buy unless you like wiring Anonymous reviewerYou need to wire this into a ceiling rose. It’s not clear when you bug it off the shelf. I cannot install due to the height of the ceiling over my staircase. Utterly pointless to see. Shade be just a normal shade. Either £55 wasted or a return visit to Ikea. Don’t bother buying
Check before fitting Anonymous reviewerLove these shades so much. Had one in my last house and decided to put two up in my new living room. After they were fitted noticed that they are two completely different colours. One is a light whitish colour the other a dark golden honey. Jarring every time I look at them.
Needs to be sold as just a shadeAnonymous reviewerThis should come with the option of just buying the shade. Not everyone wants or needs to replace the whole light fixture but we are made to buy one anyway as we want the shade. This needs addressed.

beautiful but not fit for purposeAnonymous reviewerNowhere in the description does it explain that a ceiling hook is required. I thought this was a lampshade, not a light fitting with unusual connections. It was incredibly finnicky to install, and then when installed it didn't work. The cable is too long and the ceiling fitting is cheap looking. I'm trying to return and IKEA is making it impossible.

Lovely Lampshade, Odd FittingsAnonymous reviewerI love the lampshades and the two different sizes make a lovely contrast in my home. However, why is the BIG ceiling fitting in black plastic and the actual electric cable also in black when most homes have white or light coloured ceilings. I had three fitted and managed to replace the fitting with white ones. They would have looked terrible in black. This plastic is now useless and wasted.

why not include the integral hook??Anonymous reviewerAfter a 40 min drive to ikea I've come home and I need a ceiling plate/hook to put the blooming thing up!! Why not just sell this as a lampshade?! Cannot get the hook delivered, have to go back or find something from B&Q.

Horrible to install but visually greatAnonymous reviewerBy far the worst ikea product I have ever had to install/construction. Absolute nightmare. Now that I have installed it it looks great but I have no confidence in the electrical connections as it required a lot of force to get the wires in place so the base would lie flat against ceiling. There is no way to check the connections aren't damaged without removing from ceiling, but then the same problem would occur when reattaching. There must be a simpler way for it all to fit together. Terrible design and cables are way too long. Now have to weigh up whether to pay an electrician to come and double check the fitting. Very disappointed in the poor technical design but love the overall look of the light.
I agree with a different commenter - absolutely need to just sell as a shade, not the whole fitting!! Then it would be 5/5 from me.

Missing hookAnonymous reviewerNice lamp but nowhere on the box or the website - (despite a sarcastic ikea employee previously writing in the comments that this information is in the good to know page), nowhere informs you that you need to purchase the ceiling hook separately. The article just says complete with an overpriced lightbulb. Secondly this information is not obvious in the shop which is how I bought the item. Originally thought it was a lampshade. Disappointed to find it was a pendant light which I am prepared to fit the parts are incomplete. Drove 30 miles to ikea.... 60 mile round trip to be missing a 50p item. Should be included. Not impressed
