Excellent productAnonymous reviewerIt was slightly difficult to install but I got there in the end. It kept failing at the same point. I then discovered that it won't work at all within one metre of the zigbee hub. However, I persevered and took it to another room where it started working perfectly. Great! I then installed it on my front door about two months ago and since then i hasn't missed a beat. Highly recommend this sensor. I'm going to buy four more.5
Works as expectedAnonymous reviewerWorks well with apple home but initially it took few attempts to add to ikea app. Think it needed firmware update. 5
Very impressed with reliabilityAnonymous reviewerI feared the worst when I tried to set this up with the Sky Connect dongle of Home Assistant. It wouldn't go fully through the configuration phase. Having got the device recorded on HA I then found that it simply wouldn't work. No matter of opening or closing would actually register. I therefore took it to a different room and, lo and behold!, it worked perfectly. It has worked properly ever since so I have to say at this price it's definitely recommended. I'll probably buy a few more.5
Works exactly as intendedAnonymous reviewerVery reliable, easy to use sensor. Used it to control lighting from a PAX wardrobe, and it's excellent. Setup is a breeze.5
Good Value Security itemAnonymous reviewerI bought 3 to use as door contacts. Easy to connect to my Hub and to fit to the doors. Notification to phone when door opens/closes. Really good value addition to house security.5
Excellent Connection and good valueAnonymous reviewerI bought two sets of these after upgrading to the Dirigera hub.
I thought I'd see what they'd add in terms of security, or Smart Home capabilities.
They connect to the Dirigera hub seamlessly. And show status of 'Open' and 'Closed' in the Ikea Home Smart App.
I use Google Home as my main Home control and these sensors when exposed to google are incredible. The 'Open' and 'Closed' status shows in Google AND can be used in automations. So we have them trigger announcements, lights and messages (A text that says "Front Door Open" etc. Also used to reduce home heating if a door is
left open for a long period of time (during a family BBQ for example).
These are a better build than other Zigbee sensors I've had and the build quality is far superior.
I'm definitely adding more soon.5
Good, after connecting problemAnonymous reviewerPaired with a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle ( Z-Stack 3.x.0) with HA just fine, but not by presssing the button for 10+ seconds as instructed, that did nothing. Pressed it 4 times as suggested elsewhere, picked up straight away and working fine.5
UnreliableAnonymous reviewerI purchased 6 of these.
Only 1 has proven reliable.
I am using with zigbee2MQTT with 100 other zigbee devices.
It is always a parasoll that has become unavailable.
Despite multiple removals from zigbee2MQTT and re-pairings they remain unreliable.
At best they show as available but do not report the window opening or closing.
Even the sensors that are within 10feet line of sight of the zigbee coordinator are dropping the connection.
After several weeks of attempting to get these reliable now on the brink of just dumping them.
They look and feel like quality, but just can’t do the job.

Best on the marketAnonymous reviewerHonestly a game changer. No other product is worth buying since their introduction. Only downside is the requirement of a £60 hub, but if you are buying 2 or more then it shouldn’t be an issue considering other products are £30+ each!5
Serious Clamping IssueAnonymous reviewerBroadly, the connectivity and presence detection are great.
There is a serious problem that mounting the unit in the clip seems to unseat the battery and turn it off.
I'd return it, but I only discovered this after it was attached and the stickers are wonderfully strong so I cannot take it off to bring back!
Was a little tricky to get connected to our Zigbee hub (hub in pairing mode, place it adjacent to the hub, 4x quick presses of the connect button, wait for it to start connecting, 4x presses again, then it connects)3
Easy and Integral to my Smart HomeAnonymous reviewerA simple and easy to install door contact. Integrates easily into the IKEA Smart Home app and can turn lights on when someone enters. Works best with the hub, but very pleased and the price is great. Use IKEA rechargeable batteries to save the planet. 😀5
Unbelievably reliableAnonymous reviewerI used these with Hubitat and they are faultless. They take a bit of effort pairing if you're far from the hub. So I've found that being really close to the Hubitat hub is extremely effective. They are a bit large but I guess this is due to having the aaa battery. On the plus side, the large battery means you're not changing coin cell batteries every 5 months like my other door sensors. I've inserted these into my upvc window frames with a tiny bit of dremmeling so they're not even visible. Also you can cut the magnet out of the other piece of you want to make it more incognito. The magnet is approx 7mmx4mmx2mm5
An excellent product that works well with Home AssistantAnonymous reviewerI am using several of these to monitor doors being open in Home Assistant. They were easy to pair with the system and are fast and reliable in use. Based on the current battery level, I estimate I will get between 6-12 months use out of each charge. Sticky pads to secure both the magnet and sensor are included. One note, the magnet has a groove on it that resembles the LED on the sensor. The magnet and sensor must both be mounted with the groove/LED the same way round or the sensor won't detect the magnet. I'm really pleased with these and will be buying more5
Simple to setupAnonymous reviewerSetup to work with Home Assistant, 2 minutes and working fine. AAA battery means it lasts much longer than CR2032.5
Doesn't pair at all.Anonymous reviewerDoesn't pair. Lights flash like it does but never seen by Digigera hub. Very annoying. Don't bother buying one.1
Afforable contact sensor Anonymous reviewerWork well with HomeKit, the notification as fast as Eve contact sensor.5
Great value door sensorAnonymous reviewerWorks perfectly on my front door and my French doors to the garden. Setup was a breeze in the Home Smart app. Installation is easy with the pre installed sticky pads. Contact is made from around 1cm apart so some flexibility for installation. I’m using with Apple HomeKit to turn my garden lights on when I let the dogs out after sunset using Siri Shortcuts automation in the Apple home app.
Great value product, and loving the new range using AAA rechargeable batteries. I can’t comment on how long they last yet but should be quite a while I’d imagine.5
Not sensitive enough but otherwise great Anonymous reviewerI really love this sensor - the price is great and so far it has been working. We have it set up with the dirigera hub and use HomeKit. I only gave 4 stars because it is not sensitive enough. We put it on our front door because we wanted to see when we forget to fully latch it shut, however the sensor still sees this as “closed” even though the two sensor pieces don’t even overlap. However it does detect when someone actually opens the door, so I guess it works as advertised.4
Work in progress Anonymous reviewerBackground: Existing smart home user and go to tech guy in the family. My first experience with IKEA's smart range of products and it wasn't the best. First I setup the Dirigera hub. Once this was updated and registered I paired my first Parasoll. The hub found it, recognised it but constantly showed it as open. Turning the notifications on for when it opens or closes did nothing. Resetting the hub didn't resolve the issue. Cutting a long story short, removing the product from the hub and re-pairing fixed the 'open' and 'closed' recognition. Unfortunately the notifications still don't work. I will put this down to being recently released and I hope this functionality will work in the coming weeks. If not, it will be going back to IKEA.2
