Product details
The high backrest and the curved shape of the chair, provide good lower back support and prevent your back from getting tired. You sit comfortably, longer and with a relaxed posture.
The deepening in the chair seat distributes the weight over the area of the chair and reduces the pressure on the sitting bone.
Solid wood chair frame makes the construction durable and very sturdy.

Care
Wipe clean with a mild soapy solution.

Okay, but...Anonymous reviewerIf you are buying this chair for the first time, then you will be very pleased with them. They are solid, comfortable chairs that are easy to put together.
The issue I have is I had these previously (~10 years ago) and I needed to replace some, and you can clearly see where cost savings have been made. The chair seat is about a third the depth of its predecessor and is scalloped to fit your bottom. If you are of the heavier persuasion like myself, you can feel the seat flex slightly, where it did not do that before. The antique staining is not consistently applied, so colouring differs from piece to piece, and only visible surfaces are stained which again is different from the earlier version.

Hubby managed to break our previous IKEA chairs very fast (he rocks back onto the back legs!) but this one has remained intact and solid. Please keep this excellent chair in the IKEA range!

Disappointed!!!Anonymous reviewerAfter checking it out online and had a look at the built product in the Ikea showroom, I have bought 4 of these chairs. I was charged £70 for each instead of £60 due to wrong barcode on packaging. The barcode on the packaging was for the Nordviken bar stool even though the product inside was the Nordviken chair. So double check at the till when you pay. I have returned all 4 of them due to scratches, markings, chipping and screw hole damage. I can understand 1 or 2 of them having some quality issues, but was really disappointed that all 4 of them were in non pristine condition. I would have tolerated those issues if these chairs were bought second hand, but not when buying it brand new. The seat part on these chairs are a bit thin which is worrying. I have been buying from Ikea for some years now, but lately the products are not up to their usual standard. Hope the quality issues like these get resolved first before Ikea keep on increasing prices for items by almost 40 - 50 percent.
