Care

Sadly one was damaged slightly. One phone call asking for a replacement part and they sent a whole replacement chair! Fantastic service Jag älskar Ikea :)

Norviken dining chairs.Anonymous reviewer2 chairs were delivered on Saturday 15th Mar. 2025. put together same day. No problem. Noticed they weren't the same quality as the 6 i bought years earlier. Which are still great, Granddaughter sat on one 6 days later and it collapsed under her. She could have broken her back there was no warning. I checked with the other chairs as i noticed they weren't as good quality. Now i am trying to get through to ikea to put a complaint in and no one wants to know. I am a big ikea fan. Or should i say was.

Okay, but...Anonymous reviewerIf you are buying this chair for the first time, then you will be very pleased with them. They are solid, comfortable chairs that are easy to put together.
The issue I have is I had these previously (~10 years ago) and I needed to replace some, and you can clearly see where cost savings have been made. The chair seat is about a third the depth of its predecessor and is scalloped to fit your bottom. If you are of the heavier persuasion like myself, you can feel the seat flex slightly, where it did not do that before. The antique staining is not consistently applied, so colouring differs from piece to piece, and only visible surfaces are stained which again is different from the earlier version.

Hubby managed to break our previous IKEA chairs very fast (he rocks back onto the back legs!) but this one has remained intact and solid. Please keep this excellent chair in the IKEA range!
