Reviews

Just what we wantedAnonymous reviewerHad a few heart in the mouth moments when getting the glass panels over the little bobbles to hold them in place, but nothing smashed, & it's just what we wanted. 3 glass sides so we can display our glass & figurines really well, very pleased with the purchase5
BrightAnonymous reviewerWe brought this to downsize and we want something to match the decor. We weren’t let down.5
It’s perfectAnonymous reviewerGreat price and looks perfect for displaying my items. Easy to build!5
PlantsAnonymous reviewerI’ve made my cabinet into a green house for my plants, it looks lovely and the plants are happy. 5
Classy looking cabinetAnonymous reviewerBought this to display parts of my various collections of "toys" in my WFH office. Fairly easy to put together, it somewhat nerve-wracking because there's so much glass! Fully assembled, it looks fantastic. I've paired it with a couple of sets of cabinet lights - it could do with a cable management strip down the spine of the cabinet for a pristine finish. 5
Great cabinet Anonymous reviewerBought this to house hubbys large collection of JD whisky and glasses . It looks fantastic now it’s altogether. Just what was needed , looks great with lights on glass shelves as it shines through whole cabinet . 5
Staff extremelyHelpful!!Anonymous reviewerI am completely satisfied with the two Milano cabinets I purchased. I was looking for something modern which showed off the pottery collection I have and that didn’t detract from it! The cabinets were perfect for my needs, the two lights I added to each added to the look and visitors to my house always comment on them, they are side by side and fit perfectly in the space I had …. I am delighted with them5
CabinetAnonymous reviewerLooks great.easy enough to put up5
Milsbo display cabinetAnonymous reviewerBought this to display my various (vintage to new) cameras. Easily put together and looks very good in my home office. Great product.5
BeautifullAnonymous reviewerBought this cabinet for my collection of antique bears managed to put it up by myself I was carefull with it, the size is perfect and I love the fact it is mostly glass so you can see through the cabinet would definatley reccomend5
Extra glass shelvesAnonymous reviewerI needed extra glass shelves for the Milsbo cabinet, how can I get some?4
Simply elegantAnonymous reviewerModern style display cabinet which is easy to assemble and looks great in any living space.5
Excellent quality great value for money easily builtAnonymous reviewerI have no negative thoughts on product and delivery. 5
Great item, poor wall anchorsAnonymous reviewerThe cabinet itself is very easy to put up - a lot easier than I was expecting. It is great quality - lots of metal and glass, very little plastic, and as usual the engineering and instructions are great. However, it is quite tall so does need anchoring to the wall I would have thought. Unfortunately, any form of skirting board means that the included anchor brackets will very likely be too short. Ikea despite making a bit deal about wall anchors, does not not appear to offer any advice or alternatives (e.g. webbing straps). Most found information on the internet involve using wooden batons which are unsightly for a glass see-through cabinet such as this. Eventually I bought some white webbing straps and did my own thing, but Ikea, if it really does take anchoring seriously, need to review their approach to this unit.3
We are very pleased withAnonymous reviewerWe are very pleased with the glass cabinet5
Just what we wantedAnonymous reviewerOnce put together this is just what we hoped it would be. Putting it together is a bit of a pain and one of the screw holes for an attachment to hold the shelf didn’t work, we haven’t returned it as it was a pain in the neck to assemble, the thought of taking it apart to return……! This would’ve had 5* if not for the screw hole issue which means we can’t put anything of significance on that particular shelf, and problems putting together, the glass is difficult to put in and you pray it doesn’t break.3
Excellent display cabinet, more shelves would be great !Anonymous reviewerBought this cabinet several months ago, but only just assembled it in our new home. Easy to assemble following the instructions, inserting the glass was a little fiddly, but I was doing it on my own - take your time and it's fine. Lovely looking sturdy cabinet which would be even more useful if you could buy a pack of additional shelves and fixing supports. A pack of 4 extra shelves would make the cabinet even more flexible and attractive for purchasers. PLEASE IKEA - offer packs of extra shelves + fixings !!!5
Excellent Display CabinetAnonymous reviewerEasy construction, although 2 people required for some elements. All goes together very well. Looks superb in my study.5
Great display cabinet but no lightsAnonymous reviewerReasonably easy to put together but glass sides are a little awkward - I loosened the screws at the top of the cabinet and found it easier to slide the panels into place then tightened the top. The cabinet looks great and feels sturdy. One gripe when I saw it in store the cabinet had lights and indeed on the last page of the instruction booklet it shows lights - yet there are none?!? Description on line implies that they are optional - instruction booklet makes it look like they are included. A bit misleading so not impressed with Ikeas marketing of this product.4
My Three Milsbo CabinetsAnonymous reviewerI bought three of these cabinets. They are excellent - very sturdy, easy to construct and look amazing. For the first two I had two extra shelves made for each and I was able to get extra brackets from Ikea easily. However I cannot get extra brackets for the third one! I have been trying for weeks and they are continually out of stock. What can I do? Also it would be great if you could purchase extra shelves!! Surely this should be possible.5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"MILSBO glass-door cabinet is all about giving maximum attention to the things stored in it, rather than the cabinet itself. My idea was to use as little material as possible and give the product clean lines and an airy design with hidden brackets and angled edges. Adjustable shelves allow you to adapt the cabinet to different needs, and a lock keeps your stored things more secure. I see it as a cabinet that discretely allows other objects to stand out."
