Took it back the day after assembly and explained how the noise was keeping my daughter awake. Guy at IKEA ask me to see if the one in the show room was noise free. We went to view only to find that IKEA place a thick perspex sheet over the slats so no noise can be heard and the bed feels much firmer. Beware they are hiding their poor design!1

Worst ikea furniture I’ve hadAnonymous reviewerFirstly the bed comes in 2 boxes, but having paid £40 for delivery (we couldn’t fit it in our car) the company arrived with only 1 of the boxes. We then had to wait for the next box which was arranged for the following Tuesday. I called on the Tuesday as had not received confirmation to be told it was now going to be delivered the following day! The instructions are awful. I usually manage to put ikea furniture together by myself as the instructions and building of the furniture is so easy. Not with this bed. Some of the screws did not fit, the instructions were not clear enough. After 2hrs of cursing and frustration my husband and I managed to get it put together. I would not recommend this bed to anyone. Also my daughter has knocked her legs on the sharp corners a number of times.1

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
