Reviews

Don’t wipe off Anonymous reviewerWorst pens! Do not wipe off easily at all off the whiteboard. They shouldn’t be sold as whiteboard pens!!!!1
Not recommended Anonymous reviewerThese can’t rubbed off,,,,definitely not for white board 1
Does not workAnonymous reviewerI bought 2 sets, 1 that comes with the eraser and this set with neon colours. Only the purple works but still quite faint. The rest doesn’t write at all.1
Don't rub offAnonymous reviewerThese pens are great colours but they don't rub off with the IKEA whiteboard rubber. Very disappointing. 1
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerGood quality5
Doesn’t wipe offAnonymous reviewerThis is the second pack of pens I have bought and neither have wiped off with the normal board wiper (also bought from IKEA as well as the board itself) or a wet cloth. I have to actually scrub it with a strong cleaning spray. Very disappointed1
Decent pens, just don't work too wellAnonymous reviewerThe neon colours honestly are great, a very great idea. However they sometimes are hard to read, or don't write on the board without having a white gap through the lines which is a shame. They are really vibrant though and quite cute for my monthly calendar 3
Hard to rub outAnonymous reviewerBought these with the easel, whiteboard pens with rubber and chalks. The whiteboard pens with rubber work as they should, but these pens DO NOT rub out with the rubber, had to use a baby wipe to remove from easel. Why are these pens different Ikea? They changed what should have been an easy, independent wipe clean by my grandchild into a chore! Very disappointing. Please make them dry wipe able!!2
Great colours Anonymous reviewerGreat colours grandkids love them5
cant be erased with the eraser Anonymous reviewer pen mark cannot be erased on the easel whiteboard with their eraser, the eraser created a real mess on the whiteboard, i need to use alcohol to wipe clean it. PLEASE IMPROVE!!!!1
Don’t wipe off very wellAnonymous reviewerDon’t wipe off the whiteboard without using a damp cloth2
Don’t work Anonymous reviewerBought from ikea in Sheffield, got home and don’t work I live over a hour away so not worth taking them back but what a waste of money and a disappointment as these were for my daughters white board on their easel and when we got home they didn’t work 1
dried outAnonymous reviewercame home, opened the pack and kiddies were very disappointed as they could not use any of the pens, they were totally dried out 1
Great pensAnonymous reviewerMy children have loved creating on their whiteboard with these pens. 5
Coloured board pensAnonymous reviewerThese pens are great for using on a white board, however the lighter colours don’t show up so well. 5
Work well but...Anonymous reviewerThey are good colours to complement the pack of 4 that come with the eraser, but the eraser doesn't work with these pens. Leave a right mess.3
CrapAnonymous reviewerThese pens didn’t work waste of money looks like the ink ran out before we even used it. Yellow is non existent my daughter was excited for the pink and purple disappointed that they didn’t work well. We bought the black and blue set with the rubber I hope it works better. We threw these away so disappointing we bought two packs as well. 1
Whiteboard markersAnonymous reviewerBeautiful colours, but the only one that works well is the purple! The rest seem too dry! 1
Perfect Anonymous reviewerNot used yet but looks good 5
VibrantAnonymous reviewerThe markers are really pigmented and very vibrant. Must buy. 5

For all creative little explorers

Drawings all over the kitchen table and coloured felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.

We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realised that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.

Made for busy artists

The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favourite colours? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realised how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. That’s why we considered all their feedback and made sure the products met their needs.”

Easy to get started

The MÅLA series has been around for a long time, but it keeps growing and evolving as we see new needs and get new ideas. All parts should be easy to grab and use whenever inspiration strikes. “The child shouldn’t need a parent nearby to start drawing or painting. Being able to do things on your own is an important part of development. You grow with the task.”
