Reviews

Looks very goodAnonymous reviewerBut…. They are noisy extractors, aren’t they? And this one is no exception-as has been written before. I’m thinking end of the runway at Heathrow but you get used to it and make necessary arrangements. But if they aren’t noisy they are not extracting-that’s what the electrician fitting it for me said. Actually it was not difficult to install- plug in and play. As a valuable light over the cooker and clearing the air of oil globules -spot on.4
Does the jobAnonymous reviewerNot the quietest but extracts o.k. 4
Best of the bunchAnonymous reviewerThis extractor has stood the test of time (6 years) in our kitchen. Contrary to some reviews the carbon filter can be bought on Ikea's website - it is Nyttig 900. Easy to replace and also wash and reuse. Read all you can including the documents available on the website. It is 60 deep and hence could be a head obstruction if Installed too low. Yes it is a little loud on full pelt, but we only use this when needed and it really isn't too bad. My opinion is this extractor now represents the best value from IKEA. 5
Nice when new, not designed for cleaning and maintenanceAnonymous reviewerAs others have said, it is a tad noisy on the higher speeds but otherwise works OK. However, the blurb says it can be used a recirc fan with a charcoal filter - but do IKEA sell this filter? Or even a replacement mesh filter? They do not seem to be available anywhere due to the large one-pice design. Second thing, need to dismantle the fan for cleaning/maintenance? I am pretty handy but am loathe to try this , looks like the whole internal fitment has to come out in one go. 4
Sticks outAnonymous reviewerBeware if you lower the cabinet3
Extractor hoodAnonymous reviewerLooks good & does its job5
Excellent QualityAnonymous reviewerThis Extractor hood was the perfect item to finish the look of my new kitchen. With a bargain price, style and build quality it was simply perfect.5
ExtractorAnonymous reviewerSounds like a jet engine when in use, but value for money and does the trick. Don't use it for very long at any one time.4
Keeping up with the jones'sAnonymous reviewerI wasn't fussed about having a kitchen fan but as we were intending to eventually rent out the property I was told not having one puts people off despite the frankly fantastic new IKEA kitchen surrounding it. So i bought this one. It's clean lines and stainless utilitarian appearance combined with it's affordable price made this the perfect show-home-extractor fan for me. The light on it's pretty.5
replacement hoodAnonymous reviewerLooks good, works fine ,a bit noisy on full speed5
Great for the price.Anonymous reviewerThe Lagan works just fine, I found the instruction easy to follow and can be installed on your own 9f you have to, although not recommended. It is slightly noisy but I have never used a cooker hood previously.5

Quality

Sensitive to noise or have an open-plan home?

For extractor hoods, a noise level below 60 dB is considered low – roughly equivalent to a normal conversation between two people. We measure the noise level of our hoods at max speed, making it easier to compare different models. Note that sound levels decrease at lower speeds, and recirculating hoods are typically louder than those vented outdoors. Noise may also increase if the ducting is long or has several bends, as the air has to work harder to pass through the system.

Function solution

Sound levels

Sound levels for appliances are measured in decibels (dBs). Our extractor hoods have been tested in speed 3 to determine the dB level. The sound level of your extractor hood is affected by: • Type of installation. Exhaust-mode or recirculation-mode. • Length and diameter of the exhaust pipe between extractor and exhaust vent. The longer it is and the smaller the diameter, the louder it gets. • 90° bends. The more bends you have in the exhaust pipe, the greater the sound.
