Create your own personal pendant lamp by combining the lampshade with a decorative bulb and a matching cord set.

Tricky but definitely worth it.Anonymous reviewerAs others have mentioned it’s a little tricky to build, but once you’re done a couple of the blades it’s very easy to do, I originally thought each one was separate but are 2 separate halves, like a spring. I was surprised to find the blades were actually metal and not plastic as I first thought and after completing and mounting looks very striking and far my expensive looking than it actually costs.
People saying no mention of extra bits needed but this is perfectly obvious if you look at it before you buy it and the extra bits are nearby anyway.
I love and hate it as the same time. Anonymous reviewerI bought 2 and they looked absolutely beautiful. However, the one on my landing, I don't know if it's because of the Sun, but the fact is that it started breaking the little 'teeth' where you click the spires and now it's all gone and if I want it to match the ones I have downstairs I will have to buy the whole thing again (and fiddle with assembly :( ) because there is no spare parts for it. Really disappointed.
Difficult assembly Anonymous reviewerQuite difficult to put together instructions not clear
ArghhhhhAnonymous reviewerAfter spending a Saturday evening assembling the first one I started the second one, clicked in all the parts of first half, second half was exactly same way as first so it didn’t meet the first half properly to click together, very annoying! I live 40 miles away from ikea
Funky shadeAnonymous reviewerA little tricky to put together, but amazing when it’s up, add the large bulb and it looks very modern
Lovely ShadeAnonymous reviewerLovely shade but fiddly to put together
Looks lovely Anonymous reviewerThis ceiling shade looks great in my house, it’s a bit fiddly when putting it together
pretty but replacedAnonymous reviewerGives off a pretty light but if you're successful in attaching both sides , it will enviably ping off. I hoped I'd beat the reviews but no, it doesn't work.
Lovely design but ….Anonymous reviewerLove this style but won’t buy again so difficult to make up and need a adapter to get a uk bulb holder ( got on eBay)
So difficult to hold and put together and put the build in too
Awful! Shocking to assemble. Needs glue. Bulb hidden in shade. Anonymous reviewerHorrible assembly. Needed glue as tiny plastic prongs useless. Just fell apart. Took about an hour to put all prongs in after glued. Kept flying out. Worst thing I’ve ever assembled. Instructions unclear. And needs an adapter to fit uk ceiling lights. Say so on info in store and on package! Worse still bulb hangs inside shade so my newly decorated hall looks dark and miserable! Anyone out there who can help me make shade go higher or bulb hangs inside lower? Adapter only stops it all falling through. Can’t use more than one or no screw threads left! How do ikea in store get the bulb to hang below the black cup part of shade and shine through the twirly bits??????
TIPS FOR INSTALLING!Anonymous reviewerThis was a journey ahah.
Firstly: you will need an adapter as mentioned.
Right! Don't install in the air, there's no reason to.
I used glue to hold it all together and then proceeded to clip the wiring in place. I did notice little arrows on the rim at the top I feel like this marks where you start clipping the wires in... but by then I had already started... it makes no difference.
On the wiring there's little notches, these line up with where you clip it in.
Once it's together you can then put it up as any other shade.
My bulb hangs low and not like how others are saying... I think the instructions confuse and complicates the placement of the light fixture.
Looks great up! Really happy!
Hope this helps!
Lovely shadeAnonymous reviewerThis is lovely. Tricky to put together but once up it looks great. I am actually going to buy another.
Assembly is time consuming Anonymous reviewerBought 2 for my livingroom spent most of my time trying to figure out how the cup type bulb cover attaches. What cord set is suitable for this as there is no clear instructions to what will fit and hold the cup in place.
Awful Anonymous reviewerThis looks good but makes the room very dark as it sits on the bulb. Seems to be missing parts. Was horrible to put together. Would return for a different one but have misplaced my receipt, so stuck with horrible lighting.
So beautiful Anonymous reviewerBeautiful
Three hands required and patienceAnonymous reviewerI bought this to use with the Skaftet floor lamp. The instructions show the light being assembled on the light fitting. The securing ring is not large enough to hold the shade together as shown on the instructions.
The assembly was fiddley and the instructions not that clear. My second self assemly shade from Ikea - there will not be a third.
Frustration in a boxAnonymous reviewerBuilding it was easy enough, mine seemed to just click in place, I can only assume earlier batches had some issue with this from other reviews. However when I tried to put it up it wouldn't fit the pendant. There was no indication in store that you may need the Montera adapter and I only discovered this from these reviews; really this is just a bit of plastic that should be in the box as standard.
A bigger issue is that the "hood" at the bottom won't click in place like the instructions say it should, it drops down onto the bulb, I tried to glue it and it came off and damaged the plastic so now I have a damaged fitting too.
Absolutely Love It!!Anonymous reviewerI bought this after very careful consideration and looking at it for ages in the store. I didnt read the reviews beforehand!! Once I had it home, I then read the reviews where it was stated that you needed to buy something else to go with it (the bit that fits in the ceiling!!) .. so I then wondered, should I take it back! I'm glad I didnt .. I went back to Ikea to purchase the adaptor bit that was needed and hey presto! .. fitting the bits is fiddly and you do need to be patient, but once you get started they fit with no trouble (no glue needed) .. it looks amazing and gives a nice feeling to the front room. Buy it ... you won't be disappointed. I've had so many compliments from those that have seen it as it's very unusual.
The only gripe I have is that when in store, there's no indication that you need to buy extra bits - living so far from the store I wasn't happy to have to go back just for 2 extra pieces, whereby if it was noted in store I would have known.
Ugh design to put together Anonymous reviewerShould have read reviews beforehand extremely fiddly to put together needs glue to hold pieces I would think. Been trying for an hour getting nowhere I have one adapter re hole but does this need two? Very plasticy in places getting to frustrated with it so best place as I'm nowhere near a store on line order will probably end up in bin. No on line vid to see the easiest way to put it together poor show IKEA and perhaps now trading reviews you should send this in one piece.
Ceiling lampAnonymous reviewerLooks great, but we were unable to put up without a ring attachment. These should be placed by the lamps that require it for UK fittings. Had to wait another week for ceiling fitting .
