Let down by skimping on partsAnonymous reviewerI purchase 2 units with underframe, one that was 4 cubes wide and the other 2 cubes wide.
The 4 cube unit is great, but with the 2 cube unit they have skimped on parts and not included the same bracket that is used for the 4 cube unit, so they look terrible placed together.
It ends up with the 4 cube unit having the screws on the side which is good, but because the same brackets are not provided with the 2 cube unit it has to be placed the other way with the screws on the top.
I then found the Ikea spare parts website and thought no problem I will order 4 brackets, but the cost is crazy £36 - thats DOUBLE the cost of the whole underframe!!
Looks like I will have to buy another underframe take out the brackets and but the rest in the bin.
This is very poor.

Kallax unit, plus baseAnonymous reviewerStraightforward to put together and although it can be put together by one person, it's a bit tricky; potentially need something to rest the longest piece in place whilst the shorter pieces are attached to it. I used a rubber mallet to put the wooden dowels in, which i would recommend doing. The dowels supplied are exactly the correct amount i.e. spares are not supplied. I had to order spares from the Ikea website, as one got damaged, but refer to the instructions for the part number, then order online - spares and delivery were free of charge. I also bought the base/legs so the unit could go on its side, and they set it off nicely. I ordered both items for home delivery - the size of the boxes are quite big & heavy to go into a standard size car. The kallax itself is in one single box, so it's very bulky to manoeuvre into a car. 5
