Good but could do with a strengthening back board.Anonymous reviewerBought this to store 12” vinyl LP’s as most people do. After researching issues it could have when being loaded with LP’s it was advised to add a strengthening back board to prevent any leaning as there are no strengthening braces on it so I added my own plywood back board to add strength. Considering storage of vinyl LP’s is a very common use for the LKallax I would advise IKEA to provide a strengthening back board or bracing pieces to improve the product. It is a great product for storing vinyl LP’s though.

Good butAnonymous reviewerI have always liked Ikea flat pack easy to put together. This was no different looks good, only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is how the under frame fixes to it, on the outside side so you are left with white metal lugs sticking out of the side of the unit. They should have fixed through the base so you wouldn't see it.

Let down by skimping on partsAnonymous reviewerI purchase 2 units with underframe, one that was 4 cubes wide and the other 2 cubes wide.
The 4 cube unit is great, but with the 2 cube unit they have skimped on parts and not included the same bracket that is used for the 4 cube unit, so they look terrible placed together.
It ends up with the 4 cube unit having the screws on the side which is good, but because the same brackets are not provided with the 2 cube unit it has to be placed the other way with the screws on the top.
I then found the Ikea spare parts website and thought no problem I will order 4 brackets, but the cost is crazy £36 - thats DOUBLE the cost of the whole underframe!!
Looks like I will have to buy another underframe take out the brackets and but the rest in the bin.
