I’ve managed to get two lines of books per space. Just what I needed! It was easy to build and place. In fact it’s so good we got two of them! Much better than my previous arrangement and can easily find a book that I need. Maybe it could work for you too.5

They are great for versatility and have used 2 together in a corner at different angles to create a corner storage which looks rly good and cheaper than an actual corner storage which wouldn’t be a big or have as much storage.5

Can no longer colour match!Anonymous reviewerUnfortunately IKEA have decided to change the oak effect to white stained oak and it looks more of a beech colour. I have many ‘old’ oak kallax units and was hoping this wouldn’t stand out too much, but it does and looks awful! So if you have the older oak colour units this new oak will not match or match with anything remotely oak as it’s so light in colour. Definitely no good if you were buying units in stages or wanted to add later on.
The unit itself is still brilliant IKEA quality and very versatile, but the colour change has really limited it.3

Love this Kallax unit! The 77×77 size is just right — not too big, not too small — and it fits perfectly in my space. It was easy to put together, feels sturdy, and looks really clean and modern. I like that you can add baskets, drawers or doors to customise it, which makes it super versatile for storage. For the price, it’s a great buy and I’d definitely recommend it.5

Make the dowels of a decent material! And send any spares needed out in reasonable time!Anonymous reviewerOrdered two. Three dowels broke during construction. In trying to push everything together the thin carapace of the 'wood' dented in. I'm stuck waiting '7-10' presumably business days for a dowel to be sent in order to finish construction, and the 'track order' button doesn't do that, meaning it's not even clear whether the order's registered. The dowels are unbelievably weak. The finished unit, though bashed on one side, looks smart and seems robust enought to do its job well.3
