UnreliableAnonymous reviewerFrequently loses connection to Home Assistant. Turning off and on again does (once, or six times) does not result in the bulb reconnecting. Only solution is to delete the bulb from Home Assistant and recommission - but in one instance the bulb lost connection within 10 minutes of me doing so.
Unreliable Smart DeviceAnonymous reviewerWe have two of these and they look amazing but they use Matter rather than Zigbee and it's a failure I'm afraid. I have to reconnect them all of the time and on researching it seems it's an issue that everyone is facing, regardless of eco system (homekit, home assistant, Alexa). It's a shame but if you are looking for this to work as a smart device I'd advise you to look at something else because these bulbs just don't work and IKEA have said “We have a dedicated team reviewing the raised concerns and working closely with our ecosystem partners, and the Connectivity Standards Alliance, to better understand the issues and improve the experience”. The problem has been around since launch in early 2026, IKEA only admitted there was an issue for "some" users at the end of March. There won't be a fix anytime soon unfortunately, nice light bulb, useless smart device.

Aesthetically pleasing, but somewhat buggyAnonymous reviewerThese bulbs are wonderful in any open lamp shade, with the only downside being that this range does not see to like adaptive lightning in Apple Home, not a problem for me personally se as I have them set to yellow manually, but they will go on by themselves if not changed. Bright enough to power 70%.
What a bulb for this price!!Anonymous reviewerWe had some fancy lights put in our kitchen modernisation. The electricians advised against dimmable LED bulbs, but now needing to replace the bulbs the Kajplats bulbs, being dimmable and able to choose between Warm white, cool white, and a third in between shade is incredible. Change the atmosphere on demand, and so nice to see them in use in store before buying. Very happy!!
Powers On Randomly - HomeKit AdaptiveAnonymous reviewerConnected this bulb using Matter over Thread with Apple Home. When setting the bulb to "Adaptive" colour temperature, the bulb will randomly power on.
The status of the bulb does not change from power off to on when it randomly turns off (still shows as off in the Apple Home dash).
Only solution to this I found was to have a manual colour temperature set.
All my other bulbs (WS Globe 1521lm and 1055lm LED and E14 WS B38 CL 470lm) all are able to function correctly while on Adaptive.
If this could be solved, this bulb would easily be a 5/5 as I would rate the other new Matter bulbs and products.
Not Compatible with Phillips Hue HubsAnonymous reviewerWe have a large number of IKEA smart products attached to our Phillips Hue hub (which supports Matter).
I checked with the expert in store who assured me that these will work.
They do not. Extensive Google searches brings up plenty of examples from others where Kajplats bulbs do not connect to the Hue hub.
You can set these bulbs into the legacy Zigbee mode (undocumented, but you need to switch on and off 12 times) but even then they will not be discovered as any other Zigbee device would be in the Hue hub. Better firmware would have fixed this issue, so I am very disappointed.
Sadly, as they look great, I'll be returning all ten bulbs to the store for a refund as they do not work.
