Reviews

Wobbly wobbly wobbly!Anonymous reviewerEasy to assembly, does require to people. Bed has been wobbly from the get-go though. One of the legs became dislodged after a year or so. I would really recommend to stay clear of this one.1
Good Quality, Reasonably Easy to AssembleAnonymous reviewerOn the pricey side, but it looks good and the quality matches the price. Definitely requires two people to assemble, and the headboard must be slotted in the correct way round as otherwise it’s a pain to remove if you pop it in backwards. 5
Disappointed Anonymous reviewerVery wobbly from the start and 2 years later is worse than ever, so very disappointed with this purchase, looking to replace already which I don’t expect from a bed.1
bed leg brokeAnonymous reviewerWe've had this bed for a couple of years, but I noticed it wobbling a lot in the last few months. Then one of the legs broke - the metal threads had completely worn off (there's not a lot securing them into the frame). I replaced the screw, and that lasted all of a month before it broke again, this time the wood of the leg had been torn out. We're going to get some replacement legs because that's the only thing that's wrong with the bed and I'll try putting a M8 nut on to secure it into the frame and see if that helps. It's a shame because this seems to be a common issue and the bed is fine otherwise.2
Lovely bed but not at all sturdy!!Anonymous reviewerWe bought this bed for our son a couple of years ago and with 6 weeks the leg broke causing the bed to claps. The legs are extremely flimsy and nowhere near strong enough to hold a double bed. My husband had to reinforce it with pieces of wood. We hadn't kept the receipt and couldn't be without the bed to return it! We've had lots of furniture including kitchens from IKEA but this was definitely not a good purchase. I honestly would not recommend it which is a shame as its a lovely bed. 2
Excellent customer service from ordering to deliveryAnonymous reviewerBed simple to put together following easy step by step instructions . Great product - sturdy, pleasant to look at, enough space for under storage of required. Above all good value for money. Very happy with purchase. 5
Fabulous bed frame Anonymous reviewerReally stylish and easy to put together. I bought two in the end. 5
Legs snapped off!Anonymous reviewerHad this bed for just over a year. One leg became really wobbly and unstable but couldn't be tightened. The right leg just snapped off! IKEA what can you do to help? 1
Poorly designed. Anonymous reviewerIt’s a nice looking bed, but a nightmare to assemble. The legs are totally unfit for purpose. I managed (with difficulty) to attach two legs, but the other two were impossible, simply because the threaded spindle on the legs is at least 5mm too short to engage with the corner fixing. The plastic washer supplied prevents the thread from reaching the hole, no amount of pushing, shoving or clamping of the corner pieces together would allow the thread to engage. The only way it was achieved was by discarding the washer altogether and replacing with slimmer washers. Now it is built, the legs don’t feel secure. Very poor design. 2
Noisy after 3 monthsAnonymous reviewerThe bed itself looks decent, unfortunately started to be squeaky after 3 months. On top of that I was actually away for half of that time. I would not recommend. Get a different bed. Not sure if I would try another IKEA bed in future.1
Do not buy this bed! Incredibly wobbly due to design flaw!Anonymous reviewerAs many of the other reviews on here state, this bed is unbelievably wobbly and this gradually gets worse. 3 years on from purchasing it, if we so much as bump into the bed, the entire bed frame moves wildly from side to side. When we initially purchased it, it was fine for a few months, then it started wobbling more over time to the point we’re at now. Turning gently in bed while sleeping makes the bed move so much, it’s disruptive to sleep! The legs don’t attach properly to the frame of the bed, the frame effectively just sits on top of the legs. And yes, we followed the instructions to the letter…my Dad who is an engineer also double checked for us and agreed we had done it according to instructions. He pointed out that the threads on the screws of the legs have worn away over time hence why it is getting wobblier and probably on their way to snapping as per some of the other reviews. IKEA won’t do anything to help as we bought 3yrs ago but I’d expect a bed to last longer than that1
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerI am extremely pleased with this bed. Sturdy, good quality and looks great. 5
Very pleased with this bedAnonymous reviewerVery pleased with this bed it's solid and comfortable.5
Idanäs bedAnonymous reviewerHeadboard should be available in more than one colour Softest bed still requires topper mattes to be comfortable2
Even better than it looks!Anonymous reviewerEven better than it looks!5
The legs are terribly designedAnonymous reviewerOne of the legs broke as soon as I put it on - the screw came out of the wooden base. As the legs are integral to the structure of the bed, the whole thing wobbles about as they're so flimsy. I've been attempting to get replacements but they're no longer sold, and getting anything from customer service is pretty much impossible. I've been promised spares but they never turned up.1
The worst bedAnonymous reviewerThe fabric on the border of the bed is not part of the frame and is instead stuck on with velcro. There is one large piece of fabric that goes around the entire border of the bed and barely fits. This would be fine, if this didn't make the inner measurements of the frame slightly thinner which causes it to rub against the mattress and make it difficult to make the bed. The velcro then constantly becomes unstuck whilst rubbing against the mattress, so any slight movements causes scratching and creaking noises as your mattress and bed frame fight to become victor of who can wake you up first. Then after deciding to complain, IKEA wouldn't accept return or anything after 3 months of back and forth. Looks nice though.1
Comfy bedAnonymous reviewerThe bed is very comfy to rest your head on and a great hight. Only negative is despite tightening everything and looking over the bed it won’t stop creaking. The slightest movement in the night makes a creak. Can’t find out why!3

Good quality and fairly easy to put togetherAnonymous reviewerI originally chose a scandi wooden bed frame (that was returned due to incorrect measurements given by staff) so I was hesitant to go for this style. I kept the Lonset slats that I had for the other bed, so pleased I did. No creaking or anything like that. Looks more expensive and sturdy than you would expect for the price. YouTube how to put it together-as can be confusing. Really happy with it5

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

“Nowadays, the bed is not only a place where you sleep, but also work, study, watch TV series – and socialise digitally with friends and family. That’s why one of my ideas with IDANÄS upholstered bed frame was to make the sloping headboard as comfy as the backrest of a sofa. Another that it should give a calm and cosy impression, but still feel light, stylish and elegant. Most of all, I hope many people will love this piece of furniture and spend a lot of time in it!"
