Wish the feet had more thread. Finding it hard to level up so doors and drawers hanging a little to one side. Choosing white helps it disappear into walls so pretty perfect other than that. Restored some calm 😅
Incredibly easy to assembleAnonymous reviewerThese are super easy to assemble! I was sceptical given the other reviews but I noticed from a few of my recent IKEA purchases (Sept 2024) that they've updated a lot of the fabrication of the furniture to make it much less fiddly and not needing loads of screws to assemble everything. This design update makes it so easy to assemble - 1 drawer took me 5 mins.
Quality wise I have both PAX units and now the PLASTA and I was impressed with the latter - I would love if they were soft closure drawers but hey for the price I'm not complaining!

Awkward and noisyAnonymous reviewerThe drawer doesn't open fully, so you can't see the back 1/3 of the contents. Because the drawer walls are metal, it's a really loud and hollow sounding drawer, too. This makes it feel really cheap and nasty, each time you open it. In the shallower 40cm PLATSA, it's also an awkward size where the majority of drawer organisers and inserts that IKEA sells do not fit properly, being either too big by a hair, or too small by half. It's a weird outlier in the wider IKEA lineup, and if our home's dimensions allowed for it, I 100% would've gone for a PAX system instead, for a much better experience in every conceivable way.
Sturdy draw frames but frints do do attach wellAnonymous reviewerBought 3 draw frames with Fonnes fronts. First fitted together very nicely and all clicked into place well compared to other draw systems from IKEA such as Pax. However second and third drawer fronts were nearly impossible to click into place without hitting with a hammer and screwdriver! Resulted in slightly wonky draws! Also inxlstuctions state to space in hole 6, 13 and 21... this is a lie! Even with y mathes the gap between 6 and 13 is not the same as 13 and 21... also better to use the top draw slot for the bottom draw.... but knowhere does it tell you this! After initially thinking this was a good, sturdy and easy to build now left frustrated and diassappointed!
Don’t open fullyAnonymous reviewerI’m really surprised to not have seen this mentioned in any other reviews but these drawers don’t open fully. This is a big problem for us as we tend to use organiser bins and you simply cannot utilise the back 15-20% of the drawer space. It was also a bugger to put together, in fact I was ready to throw the thing out of the window before being rescued by my better half (who admittedly did not find it difficult at all)
Hjlpa: Problem assembling read ALL the instructionsAnonymous reviewerRookie error. The base of the drawer looks square but isn't. It is 500mm x 503mm. Instructions show a mark on one of the 503mm sides which should be inserted to the back of the drawer. If you don't do this you can't fit the plastic locking mechanism without forcing it and then the front of the drawer won't fit flush. Once asembled it's OK.

The storage that changes with you
Our living space is often limited, and it can be a challenge to find a place for everything. With PLATSA storage system, we wanted to create a simple, changeable storage solution that you can rebuild and add to, build vertically or horizontally, to the side or in between. On top of everything else, the price should be low but the quality should be high. The solution: the right quality in the right place.
"All you need is your hands," says product developer Freddy Kramer while clicking together one PLATSA frame after another. Yes, clicking. The secret is a type of plug called a wedge dowel. Freddy goes on to explain why assembling or taking frames apart easily is an important detail. "People's lives are changing more and more today ─ we move more often, live in smaller spaces and maybe share a home with others at times. That's why our needs don't look the same throughout life."

For PLATSA to be truly long-lasting, quality was just as important as flexibility and ease of assembling. But improving quality without adding to the price is not easy. "Right quality in the right place," Freddy says, and opens a cabinet door. "Here on the outside of the door, which you see and touch every day, we've used a matt foil with fine texture, while the inside, which is not as exposed, is coated with a simpler base foil." The PLATSA project took a lot of time and commitment. But it also gave results. "Those empty white boxes for the frames might not look like much at first glance, but they’re actually white boxes filled with love,” Freddy says, smiling.
