The ordering process was easy to follow and made it clear that separately available suspension rails were needed to complete the fitting. All the items were delivered on time and nothing was missing. Since I’ll be storing some quite heavy garments (armoured motorcycle gear) I’ve added some additional fixings to the suspension rails, I chose m5 x 9mm Open Flathead Connector Caps paired with m5 x 25mm Flathead Connector Bolts.

Not clear! Another part needed.Anonymous reviewerI used the platsa system online to choose all the bits I needed and went in store to buy everything. At no point did it mention you need a suspension rail to use this clothes rail. Ikea is not close to us so now I'm stuck with two useless rails that can't be put up. Why on earth they aren't sold together when they can't actually be used apart, I do not know. But I am very disappointed. Just buy a clothes rail elsewhere that comes in one piece and save yourselves the headache!

NEEDS ANOTHER PART TO WORK!Anonymous reviewerI ordered a wardrobe with all the fittings, etc for click & collect (Platsa), at no point when I was adding items to my order was it stated that these hanging rails need a separate part to be able to fit (Suspension rail), it's not mentioned in the instructions for either the platsa unit or this clothes rail. Only when scratching my head on how to get the rail up did I resort to searching online and found that another user had the same issue, with a reply from Ikea stating it tells you in the blurb for the rail, I couldn't find it. If you're going to sell something for a reasonable price, then make people buy another item for a reasonable price to make one useable item for a not so reasonable price, at least make it clear so customers don't then have to drive an hour to go and pick up the other part, poor form for a company that claim to be acting in the interests of sustainability and the environment.

I now have to buy the complete kit of rail plus suspension rails as the separate suspension rails are not shown. I now have a redundant, totally useless clothes rail. The storage that changes with you
Our living space is often limited, and it can be a challenge to find a place for everything. With PLATSA storage system, we wanted to create a simple, changeable storage solution that you can rebuild and add to, build vertically or horizontally, to the side or in between. On top of everything else, the price should be low but the quality should be high. The solution: the right quality in the right place.
"All you need is your hands," says product developer Freddy Kramer while clicking together one PLATSA frame after another. Yes, clicking. The secret is a type of plug called a wedge dowel. Freddy goes on to explain why assembling or taking frames apart easily is an important detail. "People's lives are changing more and more today ─ we move more often, live in smaller spaces and maybe share a home with others at times. That's why our needs don't look the same throughout life."

For PLATSA to be truly long-lasting, quality was just as important as flexibility and ease of assembling. But improving quality without adding to the price is not easy. "Right quality in the right place," Freddy says, and opens a cabinet door. "Here on the outside of the door, which you see and touch every day, we've used a matt foil with fine texture, while the inside, which is not as exposed, is coated with a simpler base foil." The PLATSA project took a lot of time and commitment. But it also gave results. "Those empty white boxes for the frames might not look like much at first glance, but they’re actually white boxes filled with love,” Freddy says, smiling.
