Impossible to pairAnonymous reviewerIt took me hours trying to get this working, and still no success.
I thought it was my wifi or phone or HomePod or Alexa or something else, when the reality is that many other matter devices connected very well just this new 2026 button and socket refuse to be added to the system. Eventually I found on Reddit many people with the same problem, someone bought 50 devices and 26 refuse to connect, so it is a hit and miss with these devices. I got unlucky and the 4 I got all of them don’t connect. Returning back.1
HandyAnonymous reviewerHandy, easy, works.5
Just workedAnonymous reviewerAs expected with Ikea Smart Home products, it works well.5
Works well with Home Assistant Anonymous reviewerEasy to pair with Home Assistant and provides power monitoring. Unfortunately, this plug, like many smart plugs, is too wide to fit 2 plugs in adjacent sockets in an unswitched extension lead. 4
Great new remote plug with power monitoring!Anonymous reviewerWorks great with Home Assistant, I use it through the Dirigera hub and Dirigera integration via HACS.5
Rubbish design, too wide.Anonymous reviewerThe plugs have been made so wide that they can't be put side by side in most standard UK extension leads, including the ones they sell in IKEA.......1
British Continental style flatAnonymous reviewerThe plug itself works really well and makes it easy to switch things on and off. However, the wall mounting for the remote isn’t as good as the older magnetic version (like the STYR ones). This new one uses adhesive only, so it can come loose quite easily if you knock or brush against it — especially noticeable when you’re reaching for it in the dark.
A magnetic option like before would be much more reliable for daily use.3
Life-changingAnonymous reviewerWhat a fantastic buy. On these horrible hot sticky nights in London I no longer need to stumble out of bed to turn the fan on or off. This makes it much easier for me to get back to sleep again, so this small, cheap item is actually improving the quality of my life!5
British apartment Anonymous reviewerI had the oldest style at one of these and it seemed to work better, but however this one is the job but it’s only stick on remote control to the wall not with the magnet mount and the older ones seem to be more strong stronger system but it do the job a teeny little bit glitchy4
Inconsistent and low quality. A real shame.Anonymous reviewerAmazing price and design. Using in dumb mode at first (a hub is planned) and worked fine out of box for first two weeks, then seemed to need a few clicks to wake up, then unpaired itself and refuses to re-pair. 3
Great value Matter over Thread Power Meter/Switch for Home AssistantAnonymous reviewerAdded these directly to Home Assistant via an OpenThread Border Router. No issues, exposes all states and power meter readings. If you bought the pre-paired plug and controller hold the button down for 10s to re-pair it with your OTBR.5
Not straightforward enough for beginners; no documentation for expert usersAnonymous reviewer- The plug and remote don't come paired - so this takes a bit of effort to setup.
- The remote is a pain - set to control a smart bulb, its slow, responds randomly and can't be used to control dimming with a continuous press, but only preset levels.
- It's super cheap, so worth a gamble.
- Would be useful to know if the plug is a Thread repeater, as then a few can be used to extend a border router's reach.3
