Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. In case it would break, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

Awful! Arrived Filthy & Impossible to CleanAnonymous reviewerI bought four of these doors for the two Besta cabinets I built. They arrived with the raw glass inside cardboard boxes with no protection at all. The glass had no protective film and was just pressed against the inner cardboard. Not only do they not have a protective film to peel off, but they are completely covered in a hazy, smeary mess, with suction cup marks and drip lines all over them. I've tried window cleaner, distilled water, 99.9% IPA, etc., and nothing works! I'm going to contact customer support tomorrow and ask for advice, but due to this poor experience, I can't recommend them, as all four are in the same awful condition. Brand new glass doors should be delivered spotless, in brand new condition, and not require any cleaning, never mind hours of effort to no avail! Incredibly disappointed after hours of assembly. I was really looking forward to displaying my pieces in my new cabinets.

AwesomeAnonymous reviewerThe only glitch is the hinges that go with it. The hinges are terrible and bend with the slightest push (even during the install I managed to bend one set).
The hinge is really worth talking about, can’t believe ilea make such terrible hinges. Shame this doesn’t work on drawers, drawers don’t use hinges. They should make this computable with drawers too. Just needs two more screw holes.
