Good to know

The daybed must be combined with two mattresses, 80x200. They are placed on top of each other when you use the daybed as a single bed, and next to each other when you use it as a double bed.

To create a double bed – lift and pull out the extra bed base.

The day-bed is not to be used as two single beds, it should only be used as a double bed when the bed base is pulled out.

Mattress and bedlinen are sold separately.

Good frame, bad mattressesAnonymous reviewerHaving read the good reviews and purchased the daybed with 2 Vannareid mattresses, my only question to the reviewers is whether they had actually pulled out the bed and slept on it? It has been nothing short of a torture. The mattress let this bed down completely - it is just too thin to be used when the bed is pulled out! It's bearable when mattresses are stacked, but not as a single mattress on its own. It felt like sleeping on the floor! Because the daybed is an odd size and ikea does not offer any thicker mattresses, I would never buy this if I had known. If you think of buying one, please consider going to the store and trying laying on a single mattress. Now I have to spend hundreds of pounds looking for thicker mattresses if I ever want to use it as a pullout bed.2
Perfect for TV roomAnonymous reviewerDecided to turn my small unused bedroom into a TV room but still wanted to have a bed for guests. This does that perfectly. We can sprawl out and watch TV in comfort with lots of scatter cushions against the rails and convert easily to an overnight bed when needed. Looks good too. The black finish won’t date. Easy to assemble if you lay all the parts out and tick the quantities off first. Took my time following instructions and did this on my own in just under 3 hrs. No hesitation in recommending this sofa day bed.5
